Absolutaly awesome product
I bought this not for charging devices but rather for powering USB powered devices such as USB fans and such. I cannot say anything negative about it what so ever. I use it to power 6 USB fans, all 6 fans work at their full potential. this 6 port charger is awesome, its turned on 18 hours a day, everyday and will be on everyday until it completely breaks which i hope it wont. i am more than impressed with it. i havent detected any hot spots to cause any concern on the casing with such heavy usage, in fact it barely warms up at all even after 18 hours using all 6 ports at full power. i have seen other people writing reviews about one or 2 ports failing to work over time, i have not seen this at all. Even if you do get that problem where one or more ports just stop working wihtout warning, just unplug it, let it stand for 30 secs then plug it back in. charger should be fixed. Love it thank you Addition to this review: I have been using this product now with all 6 ports constantly active, powering USB fans. i mean litterally running 24 hours per day, everyday for the last 2-3 months. After using it over this period of time i have now encountered the issue other people are talking about with one or 2 ports failing to work. This is very simple to solve, it no different to turning your phone on and off when it crashes. Being a smart charger, able to detect the power requirement of the device plugged in, on occasion a usb port or two will stop working. All it has done is crashed "so to speak" simply turning the charger off at the wall for 5-10 seconds, then plug it back in hast it back in full working order. with my constant use of this device i have been paranoid, you hear all these stories of products malfunctioning and causing fires. This device does not get hot what so ever, it gets warm, only only stays warm. I havent detected no hot spots, no parts feel uncomfortable to leave it unsupervised. in all money well spent for sure. havent regretted this purchase at all, in fact it was the most perfectly suited product for my use. no need to have plugs everywhere. just one wall socket is all it takes.

Excellent unit
Bought this unit to displace the various "wall wart" chargers that I take to Europe each of which requires a Euro adaptor and takes part in the competition for use of the limited numbers of sockets that hotel rooms provide. Also, they take up an inconvenient amount of space in my carry-on luggage. Now I have a single unit that will supply six devices and need only take device-specific USB cables. Even better, because this device has a removable power cable which has a standard 'figure of 8' plug, I can take a country-specific mains lead. I saw this device and a similar model but with an integral Euro plug in use and discounted the one with the integral plug because the actual charger blocked any adjacent mains outlets. I have only used it at home so far but it appears to be almost silent - noise being a problem mentioned in the reviews of other chargers - I can just hear mid-frequency noise when I place an ear within 5 or 10cm of the unit. The only thing which might be faintly inconvenient is the blue power LED. Others have reported these as being too bright on similar chargers for use in a hotel room but that is easily solved with some insulating tape or careful positioning of the unit. I like is the fact that is is available in a colour other than black. Almost all of the portable electronics stuff that I take abroad is black and knowing my Anker charger is white makes it easier to find in the mess of carry-on baggage.

So good I bought it twice!
After reading a few reviews on tech blogs online I decided on a powered hub for my nightstand. Like most gadget enthusiasts I have quite a few things that need charging on a daily basis including my Watch (thanks Apple), phone, tablet, portable and battery pack (also an Anker product but one without passthroigh charging unfortunately!) Rather than a cluttered mess of wires I have one plug into the wall and 6 USB ports waiting to serve my needs. I love this device as most (if not all the wires) can be threaded under the bed. The large flat back panels mean I am able to mount with velcro to the underside of the slats on the bed for ease of access. The unit itself is a reasonable size, has quite a bright blue light at the top (which helps with finding it in the dark!) and a standard figure of 8 detachable power cord out the rear meaning any standard mains cord will attach. The reason I bought the second was my wife acquiring a portable speaker, iPad Pro and a new dock for the phone to add to the Fitbit she uses and we kept fighting over the ports. The second is in the white so we never get confused over whose is whose. It's also easier to access so gets unplugged and mounted to a cable tidy board to act as a charging hub on holiday!! Thanks Anker, quality product!!

quiet device but a bright power light to light up a room at night
Does exactly what it says, comes with a strong sticky pad to stick to a wall etc too. charges without any issues. I've got a iPhone Apple Watch and a edit charging in here often not a noise or anything. the noise is great for overnight but it has a big issue for overnight charge and this is the reason it looses a star - the blue led power light is bright. and I mean bright it lights up the whole room so you can't leave this on overnight unless its tucked in a cupboard. granted its not the biggest worry in the world, but adding tape and a piece of card makes it look tacky. so for me I was disappointed. if your going to make a light so bright add a button to turn the light off. besides that major annoyance can't complain with it
