Shipping is great on time, device is small, although it took little time to check for drivers it says plug and play but takes little time to search the drivers. Make sure good bandwidth internet is connected at first time, device is accurate, and easy to use.

Lovely usb finger reader and it is comfortable to use and accuracy is great.

Was good price and seems to work okay. Only reason for giving it 4 stars is that there was no instructions and I had to go to the Feintech.eu website where I eventually found this product - search is in German and download the driver (marked as for Windows 7/8 although this is for Windows 10 laptop). Then had to run the autosetup.exe in the download folder. (The online download pdf instructions were incorrect about going through device manager to update driver!). The two other fingerprint usb that I've had worked automatically. Also key sticks out 1 to 2mm that it needs to.

Works as expected. Easy to install with windows 10.

I got it working after a lot of effort. The drivers are not standard with Windows 10. After 10 days it then developed a fault and it flashed up momentarily that this latest USB device was incompatible with Windows. It disappeared from Device Manager. I tried again and got it to work again, but unless it was a pure coincidence, my Bios altered Boot up from UEFI to Legacy mode. I then had trouble booting the computer until I could get back into the Bios to change it back. It has had to be returned.

My work laptop sits closed in a vertical stand on my small desk at home, and I use it with an external keyboard, mouse and monitor. This means I can't access the fingerprint reader or camera on the laptop for passwordless login. I now have this unit in a USB port on the side of my monitor, and I am freed from password hell! It works fine with Windows Hello and I have found its recognition rate to be excellent. The downside, as others have said, is that it does not self-install a driver under Windows 10, you have to go searching for the driver. Once you have it everything is plain sailing. I have docked a couple of starts for that.

As expected

Works well to begin with, a bit on and off but then it just stopped working. Granted I've had it three years ....but that shouldn't warrant it to just all of a sudden stop working. It's a usb finger print reader that has just stayed plugged into my pc..but all of a sudden has decided it doesn't want to function anymore. Quite frustrating.

Ich war auf der Suche nach einer unkomplizierten Möglichkeit, meinen PC per Fingerabdruck zu entsperren, und dieses kleine Teil von FeinTech hat mich absolut überzeugt. Die Einrichtung war kinderleicht. Der Prozess, die Fingerabdrücke zu erfassen, war schnell und problemlos. Die Funktion ist genau das, was ich mir erhofft habe. Der Sensor erkennt meinen Fingerabdruck blitzschnell und entsperrt den Rechner innerhalb von einer Sekunde. Die Erkennungsrate ist sehr hoch; Fehlversuche sind äußerst selten und passieren meist nur, wenn der Finger nicht richtig aufliegt. Es ist so viel bequemer, als ständig ein Passwort einzutippen. Das Design ist unauffällig und kompakt. Es steht nicht störend im Weg und lässt sich bei Bedarf auch leicht wieder abziehen und z.B. an einem anderen Rechner nutzen. Die Verarbeitung fühlt sich wertig an. Fazit: Ein fantastisches Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis! Für jeden, der Windows Hello nachrüsten möchte, ohne ein teures Upgrade auf einen neuen Monitor oder eine Tastatur mit integriertem Scanner in Betracht zu ziehen, ist dieses Modell eine absolute Empfehlung. Funktioniert einwandfrei, ist schnell und spart einfach Zeit.
