Works great

I used this to supply 1 MR16 4Watt lamp fitted to a downlighter set into a ceiling. It was perfect for this application, it is worth remembering that it can only supply 12Watt at 12Volts ie 1 A max as a lamp requires 0.3A this means it can only supply 3 lamps maximum, I doubt it can supply an LEDstrip with numerous LEDs. This LED driver transformer is adequate for the job, but a bit fiddly to fit.One obvious design flaw is that the screws holding the terminal covers in place do not fit the profile of either Posi or Philips screwdrivers. This makes the job of fitting them harder than it needs to be, especially if working in a tight space. If you are fitting a lot of them, this could get annoying as you struggle to tighten the screws. Bear in mind that the covers not only protect the terminals, but also act as cable grips; so it is important they are not left loose.The terminal screws do not suffer from the same issue as the cover screws, but you need to take care with the terminal blocks because they are only held in place by soldered connections to the PCB. They could easily twist if you apply too much torque.The transformer provides instant illumination as soon as the lights are switched on and a short delay after switching off before the LEDs extinguish: this can be a bit disconcerting if using them alongside transformers of a different make that switch off instantly.One thing I did notice is the wide temperature range over which the transformer claims to work. I have encountered transformers that struggled at low temperatures and caused lights to flicker slightly until they warmed up. This has never been an issue with this transformer, which is a definite plus point.

Used to down volt for led cabinet lights.Work brilliantly, no flickering from the leds as there was with the previous drivers.

I used this to fit some LEDs along with a motion sensor switch to my wife's dressing table mirror so every time she opened the mirror up the LEDs would come on (see picture). The motion sensor didn't come with a driver so needed one ASAP.Build quality is good and feels safe when fitted and wiring is relatively simple with a diagram right on the front of the transformer. The price is also competitive when compared to other sites.I recommend this product.

Bought 12 of these to replace my old halogen transformers when changing the bulbs in my kitchen to LED. They're easy to fit and so far working perfectly with these bulbs: AGOTD MR16 GU5.3 12V LED Bulb Daylight White 6000K,7W, 50W Halogen Bulbs Equiv, GU 5.3 fittings, 100%Aluminum Casing, Energy Saving, High Compatiblity, Brightness,560LM,12V DC AC, Not Flicker, 38 Deg, Daylight White 6000K Homebase Light Bulbs,50mm Diameter Spotlight, Ceiling Light, Pack of 6. Note that you don't get the lamp holders, so I used these ones for my MR16 bulbs: (6-Pack) MR16 Lamp Socket, 16CM Connector Adapter New MR16 GU5.3 Ceramic LED/CFL/Halogen Lamp Female Base Socket. You may also want to buy some mains cable flex for the other side - I just cut the old cable from the halogen transformers and stripped the wire.

I ordered 12 to power LED's in my kitchen, easy to fit and no flicker. I was using standard 12v transformers that were already in place when I was using halogens. The only problem was that one of the units was faulty and kept tripping the curcuit. Amazon were very good and refunded the item and I have reordered another. Shame though as now I cannot finish the job today. Update on 04/03/2017. It was not a faulty unit that was causing the trip, it was the fact that I had so many LED drivers on the 1 lighting curcuit. Apparently when you first switch on an LED driver there is a momentary surge of power as the driver kicks in. Put 12 drivers on the same curcuit and the MCB will trip because of the surge. This was rectified by changing the MCB from a type B to a type C MCM. This only cost me £3.50 so was easy to sort. I was a bit disappointed that I had to find all of this out from the internet as when I contacted LED Hive they had no idea what was causing the trip.

Easy to install and works a treat. What is even better about this LED driver over and above many others on the market is that this has screw terminals rather than spring loaded ones, and includes a cord grip as part of each terminal corer. Highly recommended!
