Try and forget how you've always used a saw in the past
Gyokucho is a great brand that I have owned a few of their saws. They do take some getting used to ( cutting on the pull stroke only and NOT pushing forward with any force) They encourage and work best with a light touch. So sharp and clean cuts that will have you wishing you'd bought one years ago. A good tip when using the bigger toothed and much more aggressive rip side is to start off the cut using the finer cross cut side to get started. I find the blades to be hold up well against rust and stay sharp for ages. This compact version is very practical and lightweight with a lovely, grippy handle

Nice saw
Nice sharp saw, different from western saws in that it cuts on the pull rather than the push. More for delicate wood. Comfy handle.

Stats sharp longer
Like: Once you get used to the "draw cut" rather than push cut.( cuts on pull stroke) its fine but does take getting used to with no firming bar but being flexible makes cutting off excess of peg or round dowel easy. But test first before using on face surface repair if fixing being capped. MARKING A CUT I go for marking knife rather than pencil( see how to use marking knife on youtube). Take all cutting easy, your not in a race. I will be buying another, maybe two, with spare blades and removable top stabiliser bar to stop flexing if needed.

It's sharp, what can you do .... anything you want
Fantastic bit of kit. Due to pandemic, I was unfortunate enought that I've waited almost 2.5 months for delivery but it did arrive. Excellent saw for a very good price. Very sharp, cuts through wood with ease. Well, just get one, no point in wasting time. You know you want one :)

Excellent
Excellent little saw, super sharp and tracks a line no trouble. Lots of debate about replacment blade, you can get them for £17.50 not seen them on Amazon, but you can get them.

Amazing
What an amazing tool. Why do we have to rely on other cultures to supply tools that we are quite capable of producing? This is so useful, and so accurate. it makes fine work of jointing wood so easy, and a pleasure to do.

Bl**dy brilliant 👏
This is hands down an excellent example of a Japanese pull saw. It cuts through wood like butter giving you perfect cuts.

Amazing blade
Great saw, cuts clean and fast. First time i used one of these but happy i got it, used it for 2 months so far no need to replace the blade yet.

I occasionally have small cuts to make on moldings or small boards that are really too small to make safely or easily on a table saw or miter box, this extremely sharp and fine handsaw is just the ticket. It cuts cleanly, quickly and amazingly accurately to shave even a very small edge off of a board or molding. I find myself reaching for it time and time again for those quick finish cut adjustments. Because it is so flexible, you can sneak it into places that you just can't get to with conventional power tools. I keep it in the plastic sleeve it comes in to preserve the razor sharp teeth. Great tool.

Superb!!!!!! Teak wood loves to get cut by this gentle Japanese saw. One can cut any angle, any tilt. Great for dovetail cutting.
