Q: Can you grate cabbage for coleslaw.

Yes you can but I would not recomend this item because the food holder is too big for the runway causeing a lot of waste.

Q: Will it cut meat slices?

I would think not. It is however the BEST kitchen gadget I have bought. Great for veg, but use a meat slicer for meat.

Q: What's the thickness of the blades and how many of them?

The blade are not too thick but are of good quality. I believe there are two rotating blades on the dial for Juliane cut and one removable blade for cutting vertically. You can have sliced, serrated, and Juliane. The side dial also alters the thickness. It is one of the best pieces of kitchen equipment I have used. The quality is uperb a day I have used this for years.
