Scalextric Micro G1120 Karts 1:64 Scale Race Set

Bought this for our 5 year old. He loves it, and quickly learnt how to get the karts around the track without sending them flying off at the corners. We usually play a 'lapping' racing where the winner is the first one to 'lap' the other. Great fun!Great things about Scalextric Race Karts set:- The karts are held onto the track with magnets which allows racing at quite high speeds- There is enough track provided to construct countless different circuits- The maximum speed of the controllers can be 'dialled down' for kids- Its compact - perfect for tabletop racing- Its much, much cheaper than the conventional Scalextric setsBad things:- Upgrades (additional track/cars) are very expensive- Track can be a little fiddly to clip together

Looked very good as a beginner track for my 4-year-old son, and worked well for Christmas day, but failed to work the next day at all. I liked a few things with the set: Especially liked the controllers which allowed you to moderate the speed by adjusting with a coin or screwdriver, so that the cars didn't fly off the track. However, the outside car went around the track a lot faster than the car on the inside track so it was not very much fun. Along with this, the cars failed to start or work once we put the track back together for the 2nd time, the magnetic strips under the cars needed to be replaced within a day, and the track set only came with 1 set as a replacement for each car. The other thing I liked about this track set was that it was all very easy to snap together, with a clear track configuration drawing. Overall, not too impressed and I should have read all the reviews of this product before purchasing and will do in future. I will be returning this for a full refund.

it did what i said it would my son enjoyed it a bit boring after a while but then i am an adult playing with my son. my only negative was the packaging itself or lack of good job my son wasnt home as it was not covered and looked like something from a second hand shop

Excellent Value and good fun - bought for a 6 year old, easily put together and no requirement for crash barriers as the cars have a magnetic attachment to the track to prevent all those spin offs and picking ip cars ( though they do spin off as you would expect but not excessive as what would happen if you let a 6 year old boy loose with a full size scale electrix.Good size when built up fir nicely on a table

great starter set for 6 year old but car rarely comes off track at full power if layout is simple. could do with al lap timer added to the set for the price.

Track is a little fragile, great when it works but even out of the box it was hard to get all sectors running.
