Naruto: Kakashi's Story--Lightning in the Frozen Sky (Naruto Novels)

I pre-ordered this novel for my wife. Sadly it never arrived. It was apparently sent with Royal Mail, should have arrived on the 21st of November. Spoke to Amazon and they believe it is lost, so got a refund. I encountered this novel in a local Waterstones and bought it immediately for my wife. So even though Amazon did not deliver and it got lost on the way, I still wanted to leave feedback as my wife read through the novel as soon as she got her hands on it and she loved it. The novel had a few spelling mistakes, calling a guy she instead of he and so forth. I suppose the spelling mistakes are the only 'bad things'. Some translations were a little weird, she said that reading Master Kakashi and Master Guy didn't quite do it for her so every time it came up, she kept thinking Kakashi Sensei and Guy Sensei. Apparently Naruto's Shadow Clones are translated to doppelgangers. The novel itself was great she said, the story was intriguing and she can't wait to read the next one. I'm not that much of a fan myself of reading, but my wife had a very in depth conversation about it, so I know what it was like. It would actually be quite fun if they made movies out of them. This novel is recommended to any Naruto fan!

Really good story, gives you more of an understanding of the Kakashi character and shows how much of a badass he really is.

This is a good little filler story that focuses on Kakashi a year or so following the events of the Fourth Great Shinobi War. I won't go too much into the plot for spoiler purposes, but the story leans heavily on the first Naruto arc from part 1, focusing almost entirely on the Land of Waves, and featuring more Ice Style users. The plot overall isn't fantastic, Naruto-world changing stuff, but it is competent and would make for a decent filler arc to put it in anime terms. There are some old faces who return from that era, and all of the players you expect to hear from have some appearance or another. Overall shedding more light on Kakashi is always great as he is far and away one of the best characters in the entire series. Cons however, typos and errors! Clearly made during the translation of the story, but it is only really an issue in the last few chapters. Simple things like missing of 'said' after a name, so it appears "blah blah" Kakashi. And then bloopers like referring to Tenten as 'his' and Shino as 'she'; I mean come on! Overall a solid 4/5 from me though, a long time Naruto fan! I look forward to the future stories, starting with Shikamaru in Feb and Sakura in May!
