Does the job: easy to use - and good value!
As a sporty and active person "of a certain age," the inevitable niggles and strains become more frequent. As yet, I've not used the heat application so can only comment on the cold.To freeze from room temperature takes about three to four hours but once you've applied the pack for the maximum 20-30mins, they re-freeze more quickly. They retain the cold well and are pliable enough to wrap around any limb. As they're gel, keeping them in the freezer permanently means that, should the need arise, you don't have to go looking for ice cubes (or frozen peas...)The material wrap with velcro fastening is really good (ice should not be applied directly to the skin...) - saves having to look for a tea towel etc. and allows the pack to stay in place really well during treatment. So far, I've used them mainly on my thighs but also on my lower back and my husband is currently using one on his ankle and calf. Can't recommend highly enough to be honest - really made a positive difference to my post-training recovery and injuries.

It is the wrap what makes it 5 stars
Excellent gel packs. They heat up, they cool down. Which is what you need, but the real difference is the elasticated pouch they come with. I have had a dodgy knee, caused by starting to go running after way too many years of inactivity, so to be able to heat up a gel pack, slip it into the pouch and then wrap it around my knee, has been a real benefit. It means the heatpack stays in place at all times. The strap is long, so you could wrap it around your waist quite easily. But the material it is made from allows the velcro end to fix to it at any point. This means you can conceivably place the gel pack at any point on your body and secure it in position. No more tea towel wrapping failures for me and my aching joints!

Very good; easy to mould to fit your body and the long straps make it easy to tighten the pack around you.l
I bought these to get a bit more proactive on "prehab" while training for marathons. I mostly wanted to use them on my heels as I sometimes have soreness in the heel/achilles area but also wanted to be able to use an ice pack on my knees, hips or elsewhere.I've only used the packs as cold so I can't comment on heating them and how they perform used in that way. I keep them in the freezer and take them out when I need them. The sleeves that come with them seem to be well made and easy to fit the packs into. The strap on each sleeve has plenty of length so you can wrap and bend the pack on to whichever joint you are icing and then use the long strap to tighten things up.I don't have particularly sensitive sking but I did get a pretty strong burn on my one heel from keeping the pack on too long, although I have noticed this only becomes an issue if I stored the packs in "fast freeze" section of the freezer (they seem to get colder in there). I should also add that I was using the sleeve with the thin side next to my skin rather than the felt kind of material side which I presume is the opposite way to how it should be applied, so it is really my own fault. I only mention this burn as advice rather than a problem with the product.I am really pleased with these ice packs and they have worked really well so far and I use them regularly as part of my recovery routine after long runs and whenver I've been putting the miles in and need to ice up a bit. I recommend them highly.

EVERY HOME NEEDS THIS
Great product, just what I needed to help relieve compressed nerve pain for a suspected C5/C6 disc bulge in the neck. Have used hot and cold alternating, heating instructions are written on the actual gel pack so they are always available after you chuck the packet away. The strap is brilliant as it is elastic as flexible, you can tighten or loosen as needed with the Velcro and it hugs you perfectly. Fits over my left shoulder and secured under my right without adding unwanted pressure. I have also wraped it around a biscep, forearm, wrist, neck and shoulder blade too. Portable, discreet, comfortable enough to go to bed with one on. Holds the the temperature well and is a good size. I would not have managed the past month without this, far more use than painkillers believe it or not. My chiropractor even asked where I got it. I bought the bodyprox one for the arm/wrist and it is utterly useless compared to this. Will be buying my mother a set for her arthritis and have also told the friend circle. Just wish I could find something as good and reasonably priced as this to take on a flight. THANK YOU ... BUY IT!

Easy to use and very effective.
What I love about these gel packs is the fact that you can strap the pack to your body. When I slipped a disc, I found it much easier to sit still with this pack on rather than hurt myself more by holding an ice pack on my back. I've used it on my foot too. Just a little practice to get the temperature right, but otherwise very easy.

Good product - mid term use my gel bag started leaking after 2 months use.
I bought this product two months ago and I have been using it for treating my knee pain. It is quite handy and easy to use I got the 2pack so I could alternate one and the other. I am just very disappointed because recently the gel back started leaking the gel.. without any reason. Given the price I didn't expect a product to leave me in the middle of my recovery, it advertises as if you could do sports with it etc.. I don't know why my use (icing while resting in Chair/bed) could have damaged it to that point.

A good idea but the gel packs are useless when heated.
Unfortunately the product was useless. The instructions for heating the gel packs were to immerse them in water and microwave for 1 minute. Well, in that time, the water doesn't become luke warm, never mind the gel packs. The other option is to immerse them for 10 minutes in hot water. Both ways are a hassle and messy. When we carried out the second warming option the gel packs only stayed warm for about 10 minutes, not exactly the claimed 3 hours! It's a shame because the concept of strapping them around your knees is a good one. The gel packs need completely redesigning though I'm afraid.

Convenient hot and cold packs
This is a versatile way to have both hot and cold pack relief. The packs can either be frozen for cold relief or microwaved for warm relief. The belt is easy to put on and stays on easily. Having 2 packsin each order is great. One pack can be freezing while the other is being used. The belts can be washed in tandem as well. The belts are arranged so that the packs can be applied on different parts of the body. A good buy.
