Ingmar Bergman's The Faith Trilogy [DVD]

The word " genius " is banded around and seems to have lost its way . Though when it comes to the work of Bergman and Nykvist , it is most appropriate. The Faith trilogy is stark, glorious and a shining example of cinematography at its finest. The booklet is well written and gives insight into Bermans oeuvre. Each DVD also includes an introduction by Bergman himself. Highly recommended for all lovers of film. It doesn't come much better than this.

Superb transfers of three of Bergman's finest films although The Silence appears to be a cut print and I don't know if the full version is available on DVD. Harrowing but impressive these films are certainly not family entertainment.

Excellent films. Bergman can directly address fundamental questions about the human predicament in a way that is perilous for other directors to emulate

This is a great packaged box set - really neat and the film boxes are the very slim type. You also get a glossy booklet on the films of Ingmar Bergman". A very good price for this 'trilogy' of films.
