Sony ICF-C1 Alarm Clock Radio LED Display Alarm - Black

Great little clock, sadly the battery had expired so had to reset everything which at my old age I didn’t find easy to do. But very pleased overall.

I like it! I had the earlier version of this for about 25 years (which was a little bit bigger and heavier) until it finally bit the dust, so I was pleased to see Sony had produced a newer version and with extra functions.Open the box, plug it in and it finds the right time for you. Display is bright orange and easy to read. The instructions to set the alarm and radio are easy to follow and understand too. As I am now a pensioner and not working I haven't as yet had reason to use the alarm function but it appears to be working fine and true to sony standards the radio is remarkably clear for something so cheap. I have no need for the snooze timer or the variable brightness function but it has both if you need them. I will put it through its paces in the coming weeks but so far I've only had it 3 days before being asked to review it but so far I am more than happy with it.I have no hesitation in recommending this as it has everything you could possibly want from an alarm clock and more!!!!

I had my original one for forty years (that's right!) until it suddenly stopped working. I was excited at the prospect of getting this one to replace it, but unfortunately, it has turned into a disappointment due to a constant low hum that has given me a headache and made my ears ring a little. Unfortunately, I think this is the case with a lot of modern Sony devices because my newer boombox, again from Sony, does the same thing.In every other way, this is a great clock radio and I would have hoped to have it for another several decades, but I am returning it. It's not as easy to set as my previous one because the knobs are on different sides of the cube, but I definitely appreciated the large font at night because I was able to see it very clearly with my short-sightedness, unlike my previous one at which I had to squint and even then sometimes I didn't get the time right.

A very cute cube! A little fiddly regarding setup - use a magnifying glass and a strong light. Otherwise fine.

Tiny, dreadful beyond belief.My first radio as a 10 year old at boarding school was similar but actually better in all respectsIt’s crude and antiquated.Tuning is done with a small knob. I couldn’t find my station and gave up after an hour.No searching, no indication which station you’re listening to. No ability to save a station.Quite possibly the worst buy on Amazon. Shame on you Sony - it’s binned.Shame on Amazon for supplying it and recommending it.I’m, quite honestly, staggered that anyone thinks this object was worth marketing and supplying.

Used it to wake me up in the morning, clock time very clear and easy to see during the night.

The clock is reliable, nice modern design and is easy to use. However I find it disappointing that in this day and age it still has a flimsy little cable hanging out it's back as an antenna. I also find it quite hard to find the right radio programme plus adjust it so acurate that it doesn't 'crackle' as it has no accurate display of the numbers.It's great that you can dim the display however its the same button you use for snooze so it changes the light setting every time. It's a small thing but I find it a bit irritating. I'd also liked the radio to start on a quite setting and graduately increase the volume...I probably should have checked that before though.All in all it is small and easy to use but unfortunately I find it just not thought through enough when it comes to the buttons and too simplistic-it feels like this radio can do less than the one I had as a kid. A real shame...

This was a replacement for a Sony cube I bought 20 years ago. It is easy to use good sound from radio and good value for money. I will buy another one in twenty years time.
