Quality stones at a budget price
I’d recently purchased a 325/1200 combination diamond stone which is great for getting a clean sharp blade, however I wanted something to take my edges up a level.Having watched multiple YouTube videos and read many user reviews, I decided a 6000 grit whetstone sounded right for my needs.Browsing Amazon, I found the BearMoo 2000/6000 combination whetstone at a great price. The stones arrived next day and as I unboxed them my wife’s comment was that they looked expensive. I didn’t buy them to look good, but it’s always a nice bonus. The bamboo base is very sturdy and its non-slip base works very well, even on a wet kitchen worktop.I started with a large chef’s knife, I haven't yet tried the angle guide as I’d already sharpened it with my diamond stones and wanted to keep the same angle. After 15-20 minutes gentle honing on the 2000 grit, followed by polishing on the 6000 and a quick strop, even with my limited technique the knife is now incredibly sharp.I then tried them on an already sharp 25mm (1”) wood chisel. As I use an old Eclipse honing guide, maintaining the correct angle is no problem and a short time later my chisel happily shaves across the end grain on an offcut of extremely hard oak. This combination stone is a joy to use and perfect to touch up or maintain the edge on already sharp blades, but you will also need something coarser to repair any very blunt or damaged edges.I haven’t yet fully mastered the art of hand sharpening, but with the addition of this new combination stone, I now feel I have the perfect tools and so it is just up to me to improve my technique.

This actually works
Given an expensive set knife’s at Christmas and were getting a slightly blunt.Always in the past used used ordinary knife sharpener. Looked into Whetstone’s and so glad I did. This takes time to use and is worth putting in the time to get it right.I used an old cheap knife that was at the back of draw as never used a whetstone before. The photos are before and you can see the knife is chipped and not sharp at all. Second picture shows bladed edge and cut straight through paper without stopping.Found easy to use and followed instructions adding extra water through the process. The base has a rubber mat on it and it didn’t slip at all.Easy to use and now will be using on the knifes that were a present.Good value and looks great in the kitchen, just like a professional chef would use (which I am not hahaha)If you have expensive knife’s then this is must for keeping them sharp.

Protect Your Knife Investment
You can spend a lot of money on good kitchen knives, but what's the point if you don't use a whetstone to keep them in shape? This double sided sharpening stone is just the job, and very competitively priced. It takes tome to learn how to use it properly and it takes a good 20 minutes for each knife - not quick. But the alternative is dull knives. I've been using mine for a few months now - still learning, but it certainly keeps my knives sharp. Watching some YouTube videos helped. You don't need to spend more. This double sided whetstone does the job just fine.

Nice stone combination
My ageing Trident Wusthof chef's knife wasn't giving me the edge I wanted, even after steeling it to the best of my ability, so I decided that it was time to learn the art of restoring the edge with a stone. A couple of YouTube videos later I felt confident enough to purchase this set as a starter. The stones themselves (there are two different grits glued back to back) seem fine, I like the fact that they're clearly labelled. I use the provided rubber insert and sharpen on a chopping board, though no doubt the included bamboo mount would be fine if positioned on a non-slip surface. So far I have spent roughly three hours trying to refine my technique with the stones. The included guide doesn't seem too helpful with the technique I'm using, but it has been useful to get an idea of the appropriate angle. Thus far I haven't had any amazing results with my sharpening, but my knives have definitely ended the process with a better edge than when they started. I am sure that any deficiency is with me rather than the stone, sharpening seems to be a skill that takes some time to master, but I have no doubt one that it is one that will continue to be useful!

Great package for the money
Using this along with my 1000 grit stone for sharpening wood chisels and plane blades. Excellent value for the money & the rubber holder is a big plus. I use it in a shallow dish of water and it doesn’t budge. The stone flattening plate works brilliantly- used it on my older stone and was surmised how effective is was.
