CRAFTSMAN V20 RP Cordless Circular Saw, 7-1/4 inch, Bare Tool Only (CMCS551B)

I finally got a chance to use the saw. It works great. We used it to install laminate flooring and it did everything we needed it to do.

Another traditional craftsman tool that works well.

Overview: As described. Experience: lots of choices for a circular saw, if you're looking for a 6 1/2" I'd opt for the DeWalt, but for the same price you can move up to a 71/4 Craftsman brushless. More power and rock-solid design, the base plate is hefty no stamped steel but a real slab of metal, ergonomics are perfect, good blade break. The blade guard is a big step up from my old Porter cable, I was always having to help it on small cuts as it had too much play and would bind. The Craftsman has no play and operates smoothly. I've been using for mostly 2x6" treated lumber and it does so with ease, most of this is atypical big box wet stuff... Very pleased. Will not disappoint. The only consideration is batteries, I have Dewalt and craftsman, GreenWorks, and a few one-off brands, it can be a pain needing multiple chargers and all so consider what tools you might be upgrading or purchasing and see if you can get them down to the fewest brands, really makes things easier. At first I issued a return because it didn't state that it was refurbished in the title or listing but a piece of paper in the box stated it was. I missed that it didn't include a battery or charger but that was my fault. After final looking around for a new saw and realizing that the whole kit with battery/ charger for a similar saw was almost $300 I opted to just buy a craftmans battery charger combo pack from Ace hardware for $80. In total I got a complete kit for $170 and so far it works well. Turned out to be a great deal!

I am very Happy with the saw, and it arrived fairly quickly. Overall a great experience.

No complaints here. It lightweight and it does its job. But keep in mind this is for small jobs. I’m a DIY female that does it by herself. It works for me.

I had drifted away from the Craftsman brand but I’m glad I came back. This is a great saw. It has all the power a homeowner needs and all of the features for safety and versatility. Since I have other Craftsmen battery tools I didn’t have to buy another one.

Trabaja muy bien con batería de 4 amperes, muy buen rendimiento y potencia. Cortes muy precisos muy recomendable.

I really like the saw, just do everything i need and its just good, but then I ordered a second one to have at home because its one to keep much more cleaner and better taken care of and when the second one arrived i noticed it was the same model as the first one but different. The first one has a better made shoe with deep engravings which the new one has black numbers instead, other thing is that the new one came with the plastic exhaust port included which my first one didn't. In general i feel the first better made but not as pretty though, i dont know what to think, im hoping both are the same quality.

I wanted to love this saw but the base plate wobbles on its mount to the saw, which means that the saw can rock side to side as it's cutting. I may reorder to see if this one (returning to Amazon) is just a random dud. Perhaps this is why some folks are reporting stalls or kickbacks.
