Generic but Well Performing Home BP Monitor
The Afloia Blood Pressure Monitor Upper Arm Automatic BP Machine is a fairly basic device that performs admirably. The unit is both battery and AC powered, but the manufacturer only supplies batteries (4 AA). The unit will shut off automatically, to save battery power. The device employs a USB-C type external power port, so it’s entirely likely you’ve got a power block and cord already sitting around your house. Even if you elect to run it off batteries, an external power source would be desirable from time to time, to prevent the loss of memory and settings when the batteries require changing. The manufacturer says a fresh set of batteries should provide an average of 300 readings. As is always the case, your individual mileage may vary.Set-up is simple, requiring only a quick read of the instructions. Similar to many at-home BP monitors, the unit from Afloia allows for two user settings, with a total of 500 readings each in memory. Should you choose to, you can elect to set it up to give you the average of the last 7 readings. The unit ships with only one cuff, but the manufacturer bills it as “large arm friendly”. There are slightly conflicting maximum arm size measurements listed from the manufacturer. The box states a maximum arm circumference of 16.5 inches, while the information on the Amazon webpage says 17.5 inches. I have a “resting” 13 inch bicep, and there was still plenty of cuff material available, so I would expect this will work for the vast majority of users. As is the case with most at-home BP monitors, you need to be specific in how the cuff is applied, how your arm is positioned when taking the reading, and your activities in the 20 to 30 minutes prior to using it for the most accurate results.Actually using the device is extremely simple. Attached the cuff, press the Start button, and let the device go through its motions. The readout is bright and big, but the image does degrade a little when viewing it from too much of an angle. The device also displays your pulse rate, and will alert you if it detects a possible irregular heartbeat. One very minor complaint is that the unit does not come with any type of case.So for $36.99 (the price as of this review), the Afloia is a fairly generic, albeit capable device. There is not a lot to differentiate it from several other similar devices in its price range, but I would have no reason to not recommend it based on its price and performance.

Nice blood pressure monitor
We have used this a few times now, and so far we have no complaints. It is easy to use and has a comfortable cuff. The display has a "clean" design, and it is easy to read.

Not sure how accurate this machine is
My doctor recommended that I monitor my blood pressure at home and so I ordered this machine. This machine has my blood pressure a lot higher than at my doctor’s office. I have no way of checking for accuracy unless I take it with to my doctor’s office. I will also say that I expected a small discrepancy since my arm is on the larger side (although not larger then the stated size for the cuff). The cuff is also hard to tighten on yourself as it slides around your arm as you tighten it. The air hose just pushes in the side and I did have it fall out once while I was trying to get everything set up; it would be nice if it locked into place. That said, I love how big the numbers are on the display and that the machine is not overly large either. I like that it tells you if your numbers are up or down from the last reading and that it is controlled by two touches on a single button. Also note that the time on the machine is displayed in military time (not a big deal for me, but it might surprise some people).

Good quality blood pressure monitor!
This is a really nice BP monitor. It's quick and easy. The one I had wasn't as fancy and it was also a little noisier, not that it matters. This one has extra features, such as displaying an average of your last 7 readings, so you can easily compare it with your current reading. It's a smallish monitor with numbers that are large and readable. It has rubber feet that keep it in place while you are taking your reading. The cuff is easy to put on correctly because it has markings to let you know exactly where to place it, which is a nice feature. I only have one issue with it, and that is simply that the cuff has some seriously strong velcro - which could be difficult for weak or arthritic seniors who are often just the people that might need a blood pressure monitor! It is the only reason I knocked off a star and almost feel bad doing it. But I'll end this on a positive note. I am a stickler for good directions when receiving a new product. I read through all the material, unlike my husband who prefers to "wing it" and do it his own way. I have to say, although it is made in China, the instructions are complete and detailed. I was surprised to find that there were minimal grammatical errors. I loved all the helpful hints about taking your reading, including sitting posture, best times to take readings etc. I learned some things I didn't know and found that the hypo to hypertension levels were a little different than I thought. I am so pleased to have ordered this.
