When I first opened the box, I found that the laptop had a relatively solid build quality. Even for plastic, the solid quality to it doesn't make it feel flimsy or loose to type into. Some minor flex is noticed, but doesn’t make it feel "hollow" or cheap either. Two days into continuous usage and some stress tests and I'm contented to how snappy it feels. The i7 model I went may be a little bit of an overkill, but it is more than enough for anything. (The i5 model runs out of stock pretty quick.) For someone who came from a Surface Pro 4 i5 and MBA, the build quality is rather impressive for the years I have owned aluminum-based devices. I have not really experienced any serious issues with gaming either. The Lenovo Vantage app is a great touch and I was able to optimize the usage I have for my computer. Speakers were decently capable, and I was able to tune it out using the Nahimic program. The 120hz display is silky smooth and clear with its anti-glare surface. Bottlenecks, Recommendations + NOTES: Upgrading the RAM helps...but is rather necessary. I experienced some lag in some areas when I had a lot of programs opened, including FPS drops when I played games requiring a lot of memory. Task Manager showed consistent 40% or more RAM being used. I strongly advise others to focus on upgrading the RAM to at least 16GB to prevent lagging and some potential crashes in other software. Keep in mind, the RAM it uses for intel (both i5 and i7) model laptops is DDR4, which isn't the best, but a great performer nonetheless..Just unusual that the Ryzen version has a MOBO that uses DDR5. I recommend getting 3200MHz to get most out of the performance you need for the RAM. The "16GB" limit stated from the manufacturer is uncertain, the possibility to use 32, or even 64GB of RAM should work. The storage is decent, however the 512GB may not be enough especially for gaming. So I recommend upgrading the memory. NOTE: It is necessary to use the smaller M.2 (2242) SSD (gen 4 capable) if you don't intend to replace the stock 512GB M.2, as it occupies 2280 M.2 already (for what I know about intel) The display of this laptop is good. It could definitely be better, but for everyday tasks and gaming it does more than enough for what I need. I don't highly recommend doing art/design related work on it, as the colors aren't going to be impressive for this laptop, they are okay at the best. I recommend getting a separate display for that. Some light bleed may be noticed on a very dark background as well. Battery life may also be lacking if the user uses extensive graphics in this computer. It is decent for the most part, and could possibly range from the least 2-7 depending on how it is being used and the specification it has. I'm yet to run out of battery since I have kept it charged in most cases. I don't travel that much either. Note: To mitigate with battery life, I recommend opening the Vantage app to switch the power mode to "Hybrid-Auto" mode, so it switches to the integrated graphics when unplugged for lower power usage. Unless you intend to game, you may put it back to Hybrid mode. I also recommend switching the thermal mode to "quiet" mode, so it reduces performance that may hinder battery life. The hotkey Fn-Q can switch power modes seamlessly. Which is indicated by the power button LED. I highly recommend updating all drivers as well. I bought this laptop in mind to use it long term and for moderate tasks and not solely for its gaming purposes. Overall, it is value for price, definitely needs upgrades though.

The Laptops specs are solid & Lenovo makes good products at this price point. The Included Ram is 1 stick of 8GB 1Rx16 ram... it will not game well and its going to make the computer feel sluggish. You have 2 good options for replacement. The first is much cheaper, order a set of 16GB dual channel 1rx8 this will allow your PC to utilize its full specs, this is about 40 dollars. The second option is a little more expensive but will give the best gaming results from the Laptop, Dual Channel 32GB Kit 2Rx8 CL 22 3200, with the 16GB 1Rx8 set I was getting about 60-70 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 which is a great result, the 32GB 2Rx8 set got me about 5 more FPS on the top end but the biggest difference is in the FPS lows, the dips dont really go bellow 60 now at all. Its a great laptop but you have upgrade the ram and extra storage is a must if you are a gamer, both are super easy to install, 8-10 screws and a few pop tabs.

Bought this product on sale as a gift for about 650 total. Received it when expected but in packaging that was truly beat to hell. The box was covered in 2 different types of tapes so it’s also entirely possible that with all the craziness of Black Friday the outside-most box just got decimated. No star loss here as the inside box had the appropriate amount of shock resistant packaging material to make it seem protected despite circumstances. I opened the undamaged computer and moved onto the required ssd and ram upgrades and the optional battery upgrade. I wanted to point out that through the Lenovo Vantage app I found out that the battery warranty had already started back in August. From my experience with the Lenovo Legion 5 that period starts once someone registers the product. After searching there is a place to note the date as incorrect and resubmit through the email created alongside the Microsoft one during setup- for people uncomfortable with products that appear to be returned/refurbished be forewarned that appears to be potentially possible. In my case it wasn’t very relevant as you will see. After a more careful inspection I moved on, but nothing in the product description, listing, or packaging made it seem like anything but new. Skip to the end but if you want my attempt at tldr. The required ssd upgrade was a 500gb 2280 NVMe Samsung 970 Evo Plus, the ram was recycled from the above mentioned legion 5 but they are two 8gbs running at 3200m/t from Critical, and optionally I decided to try to port the newish 60wh battery from the legion 5 to replace the 45wh within. The ram and ssd were typical, the laptop came with a baggie of screws that sorta fit the 2280 screw hole but left just a bit of play that does long term worry me will potentially loosen. The battery upgrade did require relocating the bios battery 2/3 inches and the larger battery fit but required some firm but gentle coaxing to sink in its new home. Case closed normally and battery was recognized in Lenovo vantage with normal temps. All upgrades were recognized in the system and after tweaks, updates, and stuff- the attached photo shows the score in user benchmark. If you time the deals correctly the ram and ssd upgrades should be sub 150- even sub 100 if you really got a tight budget. The 60 wh battery can be found 3rd party for a reasonable price as well and with necessary connections, but if you’ll only ever use it plugged in that might not matter. Overall, for the price this laptop can’t be beat as a sub 1k gaming laptop. L4D2 with maxed settings and graphically intense workshop content added barely touches 45% gpu load per Nvidia’s stats. Newer content such as Deep Rock Galactic ran closer to 80-85 fps on maxed settings so playing around with the options/DLSS/reflex boost can yield close to or in excess of the 120hz refresh rate if that matters as well. Overall, 1080p gaming is probably no worries but I didn’t test Crysis so who knows. ***The most important thing to say imo is that if you’re unwilling or unable to do the upgrades then I would avoid this computer at any price point.*** The Ryzen 5 gpu hardware reserves 2g of ram by default (disabling the integrated gpu does not yield worthwhile results- don’t bother) and lowering the UMA to 512mb costs more in the computers ability to multitask/multimedia surf effectively. User benchmark proved the performance was worse. That left the free memory on the computer at around 2-3gbs for gaming on the base version which would bottleneck very quickly. Furthermore you definitely want to move windows to whatever 2280 NVMe you upgrade with, the base 256 gb 2242 (or 2246 i forget the size) is adequate but uninspiring and you would benefit from the main system being on the higher bandwidth option- leaving the base storage as overflow. For the DIY capable or willing, this laptop (when upgraded) perfectly captures decent build quality, incredibly cheap price, and capable budget 1080p gaming.

Finally arrived! After being missing for almost a week I finally have it in my hands. The laptop is very nice and everything works perfectly. I recommend upgrading the RAM since the default RAM is not enough (at least for gaming and multitasking). In my case I added 32 GB of RAM to it and it works perfectly fine, so if you are wondering if it can accept this amount of RAM, the answer is yes. The battery is not very good but I will have it charging most of the time so it is not a big problem for me. On the other hand, Amazon support is terribly bad. No one was able to give me a proper answer and everyone was sending me a default answer, they don't care about their customers at all, it's disappointing.

Un producto muy bueno, es una laptop que eh usado más para jugar videojuegos, la mayoría de juegos te corren a gráficos altos o medios, lo que si recomendaría sería aumentar de una la ram, aumentarla a 16 GB, aganle sus servicios a tiempo y les va a durar mucho tiempo🦝 La batería si es deficiente, ya que a lo mucho dura 2 horas, Pero creo que es así en la mayoría de laptops gamer. Ahorita la tengo con 32gb de ram y va muy bien, por el precio al que lo adquiri (18,000 pesos mexicanos) fue una buena opción

Esta laptop me encantó por su perfil discreto, está destinada a gaming, pero no lo aparenta a primera vista, y es justamente lo que esperaba, corre prácticamente cualquier juego que le pongas, cierto que los ventiladores trabajan a tope con juegos de muchos requerimientos, pero ayuda colocarla en una base elevada y ventilada, la ventilación que tiene es suficiente para que la carcasa no se ponga a mucha temperatura mientras juegas. Otro detalle a considerar es la batería, con uso normal sin jugar o exigirle mucho procesamiento dura aproximadamente 2 horas, lo que es suficiente para muchas tareas, sin embargo una vez que arrancas un juego o le pides algo exigente el tiempo de batería se reduce enormemente, y esto es totalmente esperable, considerando las capacidades gráficas y de procesamiento, además de su doble ventilador lo recomendable siempre será utilizarla conectada. En resumen, a cambio de la potencia se sacrifican algunas características, pero el costo beneficio es de lo más alto que podrán encontrar.

Sacándola de la caja, esta laptop tiene dos puntos negativos que son obvios: la paupérrima, terrible y dolorosa cantidad de RAM (es prácticamente inutilizable) y la duración corta de su batería. Sin embargo, el primer punto negativo es algo que fácilmente se supera comprando un kit de memoria DDR4 para portátiles. Cabe señalar que se le pueden instalar hasta 64 GB de RAM en dos módulos de 32 GB. Y no, Lenovo no recomienda ni dice que la máxima cantidad de RAM es 16 GB. En la especificación detallada lo que dice es que 16 GB de RAM es la cantidad máxima con la que Lenovo vende una variante de esta laptop, nada más. Yo llevó un año usándola con 32 GB de RAM. Solamente la encendí una vez con sus tristísimos 8 GB de RAM de fábrica. Si no le van a poner más RAM, entonces busquen otra laptop. Por otro lado, un punto sumamente agradable es que el SSD que incluye está ocupando el slot pequeño, y no el más estándar de 80 mm (M.2 2280), así que es muy fácil que quede con dos SSDs y así no dejar de aprovechar el que ya incluye. El slot 2280 también es PCIe Gen 4 (por ahí andan datos falsos volando que dicen que es Gen 3), así que se va a calentar si le instalan uno rápido, y la laptop no trae un pad térmico extra para este slot, por lo que les recomiendo que compren un disipador de metal delgado para laptop (aquí en Amazon venden unos) o al menos un pad térmico ancho que alcance a hacer contacto con el metal de la tapa. En cuestión del display, pues cumple y ya; nada sobresaliente. El sonido es mediocre. La batería es mala (ya lo había mencionado). Y la laptop se siente decente al tacto; es lo suficientemente sólida. En estos aspectos, cumple con lo que se puede esperar de un modelo de su gama, excepto por, tal vez, su batería. En conclusión, esta laptop tiene una excelente relación calidad-precio, y para quienes saben qué esperar de ella, es una muy buena compra; pero no se la puedo recomendar a todos porque sus 8 GB de RAM iniciales la hacen inutilizable para quienes no están dispuestos a hacerle la mejora.

Excelente equipo lo utilizo para trabajar y me funciona excelente la recomiendo completamente el único punto en contra es la batería cargada al 100 dura como hora y media pero fuera de ahí si la tines conectada el rendimiento es excelente otro factor a considerar es la RAM solo tiene 8 GB pero eso no impide que su potencia sea buena además es posible expandirla. Así que en pocas palabras cumple con lo que dice y es un excelente equipo.

Diseño limpio, buena calidad de los materiales, y cumple con las especificaciones. Lo usare para jugar y edición de imágenes y render de producto.
