Very effective!
This works well for our bearded dragon enclosure. With this and an inexpensive pin timer, the lighting is fully automated (so long as 3 y/o leaves it alone!). Setup: timer has two receptacles. UV lamp is connected to one and this thermostat to the other, with the basking lamp connected to the thermostat. Thermostat is set to about 83 degrees. So UV has power all day and basking turns on and off throughout the day, maintaining temperature. At night, both lights are off. SO much better than always remembering to manually maintain the lights throughout the day. And dragon is protected from overheating when we are out.

This really helps regulate the ceramic heat lamp that I have for my hedgehog. They are pretty particular when it comes to their temperatures and before purchasing this I had to constantly worry and continuously hound family members to keep check of the temperature in her cage. This way, I know that the lamp will be shut off if the temp starts to rise and will kick back on if it starts to fall back below the settings. The only con is that it isn't digital so you have to play around with the dial to find your perfect setting but otherwise it has been perfect!

Plug components aren't the best
I did utilize this ALOT with a bearded dragon, especially during cold winter months. That being said, about 1 year in the components inside the plug started to rattle around and the lamp plug was hard to fully insert- 3 years later, it still turns on and registers temp, but doesn't turn the ceramic heater on anymore. I will buy again unless I can find something else in this price range.

Very handy!
Super easy to set up! I have two lamps over my hedgehog cage and I can plug them both into this a keep the cage super well regulated. I can’t say that the gauge is 100% accurate but does well and I have a thermometer in the cage to be sure it’s working at all times. Even kept the cage heated when it got super cold over the winter

Literally stopped working within 4 days
I received this item on a Wednesday, by Sunday it was on the fritz, and by Monday night it had stopped working all together. I got this for my hedgehog to keep her cage a stable temperature because the temperature of our apartment is either ridiculously hot (we have sheer curtains on our balcony doors so the sun practically bakes the apartment) or freezing cold (the air conditioner/heater is very old and only functions in extremes I guess) and I didn’t want her to get too cold or too hot. On Sunday I noticed that the red light was flashing so I unplugged it and tried to plug it back in and it was not working, so i just kept it unplugged and just plugged the lamp in the wall. Later that night I tried it again and it started working. However the next day it was back to flashing and not heating and no matter what I did it wouldn’t work. There aren’t any troubleshooting instructions on the back or any mention of the red light flashing. I don’t even know what it means!! The only thing I can find online are other people asking what it means and getting no answers. It’s totally frustrating because it’s really not a cheap item and it stopped working within a couple of days. Total waste of time and money!

Beyond inconsistent
I bought this to regulate the temperature in my hedgehog's cage and let me tell you, this thing was temperamental as all hell. It would work great for a few weeks and then randomly stop working. The little red light would blink randomly and I could never figure out why. I changed the bulb, I changed the outlet, and never figured it out. I finally gave up and bought a digital one.

Easy to setup
It was really easy to set up. It works perfectly in my hedgehogs cage. It takes a little getting use to for the temps but besides that it’s really easy.
