I don't like the homasote b/c pins go thru + u have to leave shrink wrap on or the "grid" will fall off b/c it's just a pc of paper...** A: No, it's not cork...but is some kind of heavy dense foam. It doesn't heal like my blue fabric cutting board-you can still see little pin holes when you move pins, but I've been using it almost daily since July and love it. **Q: I am a beginner at Macrame. I want to make plant hangers. Would this board help me learning knots or is it better for small projects?** A: This is ideal for the micro macramé projects. The notches will hold smaller, thinner cord sizes. It would work for learning knots and practicing. But the notches to hold cords would not accommodate larger macramé cord sizes. Hope that helps **Q: I can't decide between 14x10 inches or the smaller 7.5x10.5 inches. Is the smaller one big enough for making macrame hemp bracelets? Anybody got both?** A: I bought the small one because, I wasn't all that into making macrame jewelry at the time, I had a customer that requested 6 bracelets for her daughters dance team. Since then 7 years ago I have made so many that I finally decided to get the larger one to make it easier to make different projects. I wish now I would have gotten the larger one to start with!!! So go for the big one now!!
