Brilliant little charger, easy to use and really clear display
My old Nitecore charger eventually gave up and I decided on this model mainly based on the fact it had a very clear screen display. I also wanted a charger that I could run in the car or on an auxiliary 12v battery supply. When you have a power-cut and need charged batteries, you really need a non mains way to charge! The unit is quite large compared to my old charger, but it will happily charge 4 different types of batteries at the same time. It also clearly tells you what their state of charge is, as a percentage and other useful information about their condition. Initially I was concerned that there would be too much menu diving and button pushing to find out information about batteries on charge. I was however delighted to find this charger is very well-designed, with clear easy to see information. Each battery slot can display information, simply by pressing the selector button to bring up the slot number. The mode button will then let you read the important details such as voltage and charge state as well as cycle through various other details about its condition. PROS: I really like this charger. The simplicity of use and ease of inserting a large range of different batteries makes it very flexible as a universal charge unit. The ability to run the charger off a 12 volt supply is also a great bonus for portability and usefulness during power outages in the home or car. The screen display is bright, automatically lights up when you insert batteries and press the buttons and goes off completely when no batteries are inserted. CONS: Mmm ... I'm scratching my head here. In the interest of honesty, I've not charged 4 high capacity 18650 vape batteries on this. They do take extra current and time to charge so that would be the acid test. For my use of ordinary 18650, TF26650, TR16340, AA, AAA batteries its just superb. Providing it lasts without breaking down I'll be very happy

High quality charger.
Absolutely first class, quality build and does exactly what it's designed to do. I use this daily to charge 18650 batteries for my vaping mod and also for my flashlights. It is also great for AA and AAA batteries. I have owned a few battery chargers and this is the best so far. Last year I bought one of the well known chargers, I was horrified by how hot it got and decided it was unsafe, I returned it. This new charger stays really cool in use barely getting warm. The extra features on slot 4 are really useful, allowing you to discharge and recharge a battery giving you fairly accurate information on the actual capacity of a battery. This can take a while to complete depending on the size of the cell but doesn't stop you from charging other batteries normally using the other 3 slots. You can charge any combination of the supported battery sizes, each battery is charged individually and the unit supplies all the information you need about each battery. The unit is quite "smart" it analyses eah individual battery and charges at the appropriate rate. It is possible to override this and charge faster or slower if you need to on each individual battery but I've found that it works really well automatically. Batteries do not need to be charged in pairs, you can just charge 1 battery if that's all you need. Hopefully this information will help you navigate through all the different choices available, there are cheaper options but consider the fact that you tend to get what you pay for. I highly recommend this charger.

Superb battery charger. Highly recommended.
This is totally different from my previous experience of battery recharging devices. This firstly "reads" the battery, it then checks to see what the state of charge/resistance is and then determines the optimum charging current, between 800mA (max) and 100mA (min). I have used this to charge NiMH AAA and also AA batteries, plus some EBL 18650 3000mAh batteries. It just automatically gets on with the job - no noise, it doesn't get hot (and neither do the batteries) and it tells you the state of charging and also when the battery is full, for each one of the 4 cells. You can charge different types of batteries in any of the 4 cells/slots, but for AAA batteries it is preferable to use the little plastic "cradle" that comes with the unit, so the small diameter of the AAA is optimized to the charging carriage in the slot. The cradle stems 2 slots and so it is best to charge 2 AAA together. You can programme it manually, but I hope that for 99% of the time the automatic function is all that is required. The instructions to use the manual charging function seem a little complex and whereas some might get their head around it, for most of us life is too short to be bothered. Apparently the only thing NOT to do is to put a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) into it on automatic function. You have to programme it manually for these batteries, otherwise it selects too high a voltage and current and might blow up such a battery. At this stage I'm not too bothered because I have never heard of this type of battery and I don't have any in the house, but if they become more common then it's nice to know the charger can accommodate these, albeit on manual. Superb bit of kit. I would highly recommend it.
