The monitor (Asus VH242H) has VGS, DVI and HDMI. The Mac mini has Thunderbolt and HDMI. Thunderbolt is the same as DisplayPort. I would have used the HDMI, however, when the Mac goes into sleep mode, instead of the monitor screen just going black, it turns bright blue. Not helpful late at night.
