Wonderful tapes, especially with Dolby C.
These tapes are your average basic ferric of good shell and tape quality. But the best ferric still being made. The dynamic range sounds a bit limited but it has very good smooth silky bass. That would be the end of the matter, until I switched in Dolby C on an aligned deck (A WM D6C with upgrades, bias set point is at this tape). Wow. Just wow. Beautiful rich smooth defined bass, smooth wonderful vocals. Treble response is shiny and warm yet detailed. The Dolby system was designed to enhance the dynamic range of the cassette, and Dolby B and C do this well, Dolby C on a properly serviced and aligned deck makes these tapes sound equal to a 7 1/2 open reel. It is essential you use Dolby C to get this result on a serviced deck and bias the tape correctly.Without it, this tape is an acceptable ferric and gave reasonably good results even in a hifi system that was slightly overbiased for this tape. This takes sonic characteristics work well with Dolby C.Shell quality is excellent and is the best shell of any basic tape I've ever seen. The case is a bit flimsy but not that bad. The J cards are okay. This tape was based off a former BASF formula.I'll be testing the C90 soon.

Nigh on Super Ferric
I record with a B&o HX pro deck and usually, with a normal tape, I use Dolby B to enhance highs on Normal Cassettes, as their HF response is often laclustre. I've just popped some Duran Duran on with a 0dB peak and the sound is rather good. Good in fact that I'm going rerecord it with Dolby B off. Essentially, the cassette has a decent response and I'd say pretty good for the money. It's definitely as good as the the old BASF normal cassettes. For me, this is the benchmark as the old B&o had tape tests done prior, and then recommendations of good tapes. BASF scoring top for Normal and Chrome. I won't say it's a chrome, but for a Walkman or walkout boombox, I'd say these tapes are very good. A bit pricey, but I'll shortly have a box of them.

New manufacturer
Actually very on my Nakamichi DDR 2 deckSound from recorded from my 24 bit music files sounded quite bright in Dolby CWill now try without Dolby to compare sound sources very pleased but the price should be lower £7:44 for 1 C60 tape is a bit over the top.

NOT A BAD CASSETTE AT ALL - COMPARED WITH HOW THESE ONCE WERE
A good "all-round" cassette for the price.
