Easy to set up and use. Performance brilliant
Nothing to dislike. I've had similar devices in the past and been disappointed. This last week I've been on a touring caravan site in West Wales. Chronic TV reception. I could do nothing to improve it so I gave up. My neighbour showed me this device that he bought previously. He connected his unit to me Vision Plus aerial and straight away found the best direction to point the aerial. Bingo. Perfect result. 140, perfect channels. So because of that, I just had to buy one.All you do is insert the 9 volt battery. Connect to coax from the aerial direct to the relevant socket on the unit. Turn on the unit. The unit then whistles and led lights begin to illuminate. As you rotate the aerial, more light illuminate and the tone of the whistle gets higher. When you reach max tone frequency and most leds light, you are done. Turn off the unit, reconnect the coax to the TV and retune the TV. Job done.By the way you can also use the on satellite, but I don't have sat, so I can't vouch for it. Terrestrial TV is perfect.

Works really well, much better than others that I've tried
. I was consistently receiving a poor signal, so o bought a new ariel, a new booster and even changed some of the co-ax. the signal would still drop out on various digital channels. I then tried this and who knew, the TV signal was actually too strong. So I didn't need a a signal booster after all, what I needed was a signal attenuator. Now, I receive all the TV channels in good quality.

Piece of Pie - Easy as Cake
I wanted to erect and tune in my own Digital TV Aerial (Free View or BT TV). I live on quite a hill, probably one of the few available in the Fens of Norfolk. I set about obtaining the biggest and best aerial available and ordered my Fringe Pro Meter. I figured I couldn't go wrong. I wanted to mount my aerial inside the loft space to avoid any risks when the winds turn nasty in winter.Getting the aerial in a position where it could be mounted on a short 1 inch diameter pole was pretty tricky, the aerial is damned near 8 feet long and you can guess that any loft space is going to be limited. The aerial is a good design though, because it splits apart into 4 short pieces. If you intend tuning the aerial in as I have, standing beside it with the Pro Meter connected while you just move the aerial until you get the strongest signal. You may need an additional short length of cable specifically for this task. I made one up using a now standard screw on Sky type connector on one end (attached to my aerial) and a push on coaxial male TV plug on the other (connected to the Fringe Pro Meter). It helps to have a general idea which way the aerial is supposed to point, just take a look at your neighbours - you get the idea. Having fitted the supplied battery to the Pro Meter, switch on and slowly move the aerial until you get the Maximum number of LED lights on and the highest pitch tone from the Pro Meter. Believe me it's dead easy - it must be 'cos I managed it just fine :o)Would I recommend this tuning meter? Absolutely - no hesitation what-so-ever. I have held back 1 star because I think it would have been better to supply the additional cable for Digital Aerial / TV tuning, or a simple adapter for the cable supplied, which fits the Satellite connections on the Pro Meter, so why not the TV cable?Excellent product and I'm very pleased.

Easy to use .. we are in a weak signal area and using this quickly improved our freeview signal from 20 to over 200 channels
We are in a weak signal area and always struggle to find good reception - used it to adjust our house aerial in the loft and found it very easy to use.By using this we improved our freeview signal such that we now get over 200 channels instead of about 20! Very pleased. It only took about 5 mins to do and there was no need for shouting up and down the loft ladder! Just adjusted the aerial to the direction of the maximum reading and then re-tuned the TV,.. job done.A lot of the cheaper ones only have 4 or 5 LEDs this one has 12 LEDs so apparently this makes it much easier to find the optimum signal, in our loft the signal on this product lit 2 LEDs for about 30 deg either side of the optimum point where it peaked at 3/4 LEDs. So if we had used the cheaper ones we would have found it much harder to find the optimum position as it would probably have only lit up 1 LED for all of the 60 deg range with a quick blip at the peak if we were lucky! Will be using it to tune our TV in the campervan as well so that was why we chose this one as it will get a lot more use - it also had very good reviews on the camping and caravan club website.

Ease of use
The recent storms had shifted my Freesat receiving dish by what I thought only a few degrees resulting in the loss of reception. The cost of employing a professional company to realign the dish was £80. I decided to take the risk and buy the Fringe Signal Meter in the hope that it would enable me to realign the dish myself. I obtained the dish setup angles off the internet and with these I set about realigning the dish and, at the same time, not expecting to be very successful as I thought this was a job for the professionals with all their expensive equipment. After only a short time I had realigned the dish with the aid of the meter and obtained perfect reception. I have saved myself almost £60 and still have the meter to use again in the event of more storms. The meter may be dearer than some of the others on Amazon but it does have a professional feel to it and I consider it to be well worth the extra expense and thoroughly recommend it.
