Bernette05 Crafter Sewing Machine

For the price, it’s a good little sewing machine. It’s easy to use and sews well. I always bought Bernina machines in the past, but this one works really well.

Purchased this machine and received it on January 18th, and so far have experienced no problems with it. My stitches are perfect, it threads easily and is simple and easy to operate; The booklet that comes with it has only picture instructions, but you can go to the Bernette website and download a detailed PDF instruction manual, which I did and which was really helpful. It's a solid machine, easy to use, and perfect for the type of sewing I do - it's what I expected it to be and I'm very satisfied with it.

If you want a cheap disfunctional sewing machine, buy this. If you want one that works, buy something else.

This little sewing machine is easy to learn. I chose not to buy an electronic sewing machine. I just don’t care for them. This is a much less expensive version of the Bernina that I previously owned. It is very fast and has several different stitches. I really like it.

The B05 is affordable and you get a lot for your money. The one downfall is to get a complete manual one must go online. A quick start booklet came with the machine, but it is not enough to really learn all the functions.A very good machine for beginner and advanced sewers alike.

I am in love with machine. It's my first new one in 50 years and I'm in awe! No needless bells, whistles and computerization. Simply great sewing! Only drawback is small throat but it seems like its no problem, for me yet!

This will be my first return ever to Amazon. As another reviewer noted, there is a piece that's hitting other parts inside so the handwheel gets stuck, and the motor just hums when pressing the foot pedal. When I looked inside I saw plastic in a couple of places where my old Brother has only metal so I'm leery of reordering. I do like the weight. I don't like the matte plastic exterior.

I was really excited about this machine, I watched all the videos I could find on it, and read any reviews I could get my hands on. Sadly, after unboxing, I discovered the handwheel doesn't turn. The joint inside, that moves the needle up and down is obstructed by another metal component making it impossible to rotate. What was also peculiar is that the boxes the machine came in were not damaged at all; and, it came with the standard test fabric showing that the stitches were tested. But, I have no idea how/when they could have been tested because the machine literally doesn't run (either by the turning of the handwheel or pressing the foot pedal- the machine just makes a buzzing sound). I have no idea who's to blame but I was really disappointed and kind of frustrated, because of the anticipation and expectation that I'd get a new machine in working order. I requested a replacement, so fingers crossed I don't get another machine that doesn't work.

Máquina mecánica robusta, con las puntadas necesarias. Nada de lujo, pero tiene todo lo necesario para que su manejo sea sencillo (bobina horizontal, enhebrador, ojal de un paso, etc). Motor potente, aunque no heavy duty. Incluye varios prensatelas para realizar diferentes tipos de costuras. La mesa de extensión es muy cómoda, ya que está un poco redondeada y cuenta con marcas que sirven de guía. Tiene muy buena iluminación, y puede trabajar en dos velocidades. Puedes realizar todos los ajustes posibles, la tensión del hilo y el prensatelas, largo y ancho de puntada, hasta calibrar las puntadas en ambos lados del ojal.Muy parecida a la Singer Heavy Duty (posiblemente sea el mismo chasis) aunque la Bernette se siente de mejor calidad, y a diferencia de la Singer hecha en China, esta está hecha en Vietnam.Da la sensación de que con buenos cuidados, limpieza, lubricación y mantenimiento, es de esas máquinas que pueden heredar tus hijos o nietos.Buena relación calidad/precio tomando en cuenta todo los extras que incluye.Llegó antes de lo esperado y en perfectas condiciones, a pesar de haber sido un envío internacional.

This machine feels heavy which probably reflects its mostly metal build. This is a good thing - it doesn't move around the table as you sew.The stitch selection once you know what the colour codes mean is simple and logical.It sounds smooth and sews smoothly too. Its not a noisy machine but not super quiet either.I'd recommend this machine as a good workhorse - its not glamorous and high tech like the computerised machines but will be a reliable machine.
