Bikers Accident Cam
Mounting bracket and two types of power lead included which was great. The on screen menu was easy to use and after inserting a micro SD card I was away testing in seconds. The CD manual is great as it has plenty of screen shots showing the WIFI connectivity which is a great help. An indoor test in room lighting gave a great image . If you have had an action cam of dashcam before the screen layout is similar .It seems very robust and has rubber sealing grommets at the power lead connectors which will come in handy in wet weather. I think bike insurance companies will love bikers using this bit of tech.

Great camera
This is a very good camera for your motorbike that fit's to the bike and not your helmet. I had a couple of near misses where cars had pulled out in front of me and I had to brake hard, I wanted to get a camera that could capture and save the video if an accident happened. It is very easy to set up and hard wire to the battery and the play back is great quality.

Best motorcycle dash cam i have tested so far
First of all. This is not perfect but it's alot better than an adventure or action camera if you want to charge and record at the same time. It even comes with a aux power lead or if you want permanent on...via a battery cable.I did not like the fact the aux cable is spiral. I would have preferred a straight cable like the battery connection. Both are supplied .Some comments have been made about the connection with the grip and how secure the unit is but I found it supported my camera well on the side bars of my Honda 1200cc crsstourer. You have to ensure it sits correct on the plate but the other option of a spiral rod connection would be stronger , but more of a pain to take the camera on and off. The quick release is ok as long as you check it is housed properly. This has been my experience so far. Fingers crossed. The stand/grip could do with some suspension or rubber mounting as over some road surfaces there is some shaking. But the camera appears to have some anti shake built in and over all the quality is excellent . Definitely on par with the first edition gopro action cameras who's battery would be flat after an hours ride out. Its not 4K and number plates can be blurred when moving but i dont think such technology is available on cameras less than 150£. If you crash on a bike it's more likely to be into the side of car sadly, so you won't even see a number plate in my opinion. For seeing the road ahead and giving a general idea on road conditions this would be useful in any insurance claim. This nextbase bikecam is definitely the best camera I have used, and I have had many. I soon got annoyed with changing batteries every 45 mins on my helmet cam and after a while I also found having one on my helmet soon became a hassle. The extra weight was not much but it would whistle and I would often knock it. So for me one on the bike made more sense.Set up was easy. And when on aux power it starts up in record automatically when the ignition is turned on,and off, when you turn the bike off. It's that easy. There are menu buttons to adjust timing of the video clips, exposure, screen auto off and you can even turn it into a torch . One feature I liked is that you can put in your registration number plate , which then comes up in the recordings . I actually put ROBSBIKE into the menu rather than my number plate. You can toggle other things to read on the screen like speed, GPS and the nextbase stamp. But don't worry if you go above 70mph often as you can disable the speed or any of the other things that get written onto the recordings .I have downloaded the nextbase app from the Google store which works ok but when down loading a video from the camera onto my mobile it took about 5 mins per clip. I also found when viewing it would buffer for a while then play for 20 seconds.. then buffer... then play .. then buffer etc etc. So I knock a star off for that but I have experienced the same issues with other wifi cameras if I try to view videos at home. I think my home wifi might be to blame but it's just as easy to remove the simcard and view them on a pc or tablet which you are likely to do if you want to edit or take a still picture from the video. There is a common issue with this unit in that the small viewing screen fogs up. Even on sunny days. It still records and the screen clears in 5 mins once the bike stationary but I am not fully sure why it should do this. It's no biggie as I tend to have the screen on auto shut down so not to distract me whilst riding. This should answer most bikers questions and if you can get one for 120£ or less like I did then I recommend this unit way above anything else on the current market. Halfords had it for 220£ and brag it's now 170£ but I would not pay that. For the 120£ RANGE of cameras it is not perfect but it is better. It sure is more suited to touring riders who want the peace of mind equivalent to a car dash camera rather than a track day action camera or for scrambling across fields. Then you buy a gopro. But if your on the road off on your travels then this could be very influential against those sudden pull outs or cut ups that happen everyday. My other tip...dont buy cheap at 40£ or 50£ as I can guarantee they will break in a month or the image will not be clear enough. Spend more on these items and it will last the lifetime of 5 or 6 of the cheap copies. If not longer. Transcend and nextbase have the edge on most of the other ones on the market from my experience to date.

Appears to be not as water resistant as it should be...
Installed onto bike fine. Appears to work well but when the temperature drops, condensation appears under the screen - happened at 15C, so expect it to be worse at lower temperatures as winter approaches. Concerned that internal condensation will also affect the lens/sensor section and impair the video capture. Is supposed to be waterproof (yes, I do use the supplied weatherproof connector) - but doesn't seem to be as water resistant than bike GPS units (e.g. Garmin) that don't behave this way. See photograph taken in warm garage - has been worse than this when riding. Only solution I can think of is to put unit with silicagel (in a sealed box), into a fridge to dry out the internal air (i.e. remove card and rear connector cover) every so often, but it's a bit inconvenient. Anyone with other ideas how to improve the unit's water resistance?

Peace of mind
Easy to setup, good quality, worked well in the rain (1 hour wet motorway commute), handlebar mount is not great. The only down side is you can't really leave it on the bike when parked up, so factor in a minute or two of faff to your journeys end. The picture quality is good enough for a dash cam but not up to gopro vlogger standards.

Does not recognise Number plates too much motion blur
I bought a Nextbase Ride camera recently. I bought it due to falling victim to a failure to stop which left me with repairs to my car. I use the ‘Nextbase Ride’ when on my motorcycle and in my car. It offers everything in the way of functionality; GPS etc. but it is seriously lacking in number plate recognition. I have tried different settings and various mount positions both in my car and when using my motorcycle but cannot replicate the clarity of the example given in the video on the NextBase website showing van index No; WP57 WRC. indeed I have yet to capture any readable index number anything like that, which is crucial to my needs and why I made the purchase. The camera may be HD but suffers greatly from motion blurr and would only be efficient as a stills camera. I believe that I have been misled and therefore miss-sold the product as a direct result of the advertising on the NextBase . GoPro is the only camera I have found that has the ability to capture quality images of motion and will now be sticking with them. If you really want to purchase this camera then find some way to try before you buy as it is an expensive mistake and one that NextBase is not interested in hearing about.

Looks good.
Untested as yet but I've only good things to say about Nextbase, their after-sales support and generosity in the past second to none. Moreover, this item for a motorbike, not yet collected, came within two days despite a long lead time on the order. I've no doubt that when it's ultimately fitted, I will be no less pleased than I have been in the past with their other product(s), used in my car.

hard to find a good spot to fix
Not necessarily a bad product, however, hard to find the best position to fit and bike's vibration interfere with image quality
