do these require the retainers?

i have been using them for two months without any retainers, problem free. They just twist/lock into position.

It says "2 pairs" in the item, is it correct to say i will receive 4 in total? i'm trying to budget for my new craft of bone carving. cheers

If you place your order with Earshot Communications Ltd you get 2 pairs not one pair, the listing shows the title as being 2 pairs, if you only get 1 pair then the seller has not sent you enough and they need to send you another pair.

Do I need anything else besides these and the 3m 6200m half mask?

The 3m 7502 silicone face mask is imo way more comfortable than the 6000 series masks, not much in the price either really. As for the filters, it depends on what environment you will be working in; Particulate hazard, gas and vapor or both. 3m have filter options for all of these scenarios, check out 3m's website (solutions.3m.co.uk) or, google "3m filters respirators" for a quicker search. On the website you'll find detailed information on which filters you need for the work you will be doing before purchase.

Never mind dust particles, are these filters going to keep you safe against chemical attacks and airborne viruses ?
