## Description

bbfly BF32302 USB FTDI chip compatible HS-CAN/MS-CAN for Forscans OBD2: desertcart.co.uk: Automotive

Review: This cable works well. - I have a warning beep going off constantly when driving my MX5 (2009). I thought it might be due to low battery power. Using this confirmed that with the code, and I also found 2 other codes relating to air bags which I will need to sort out. Very pleased with this adapter. I installed FORScan from the link mentioned in the instructions. There isn't a driver on the BBFly website for this adapter, and reading up I don't think it needs one. I used it with a Windows 7 laptop and I think it found the driver from the Web. In FORScan I unchecked the Demo and Debug option as suggested by another reviewer. It took a few attempts to connect to the car. I wonder if the HS/MS switch problems reported are down to the program also being able to detect the connection speed is in correct - I got a pop up asking if I wanted to change the speed selected and selecting yes didn't physically flip the switch, if you follow what I mean. Otherwise I found it fairly straightforward to get to work. The supplied instructions cover several cables and are probably a bit out of date as far as more recent Windows releases are concerned and a driver.
Review: Works OK with FORScan - I was looking for a adapter + software to allow me to read trouble/fault codes on my 2016 Ford Galaxy which was showing intermittent instrument panel warning messages. Googling found lots of warnings about cheap non-working Chinese OBD adapters containing dodgy clones of the ELM327 chip being sold on eBay, but I eventually settled on this device by following a link on the James Simpson website. Yes, the chip used is indeed a clone - but I can confirm that it seems to work OK and that it works with the FORScan tool. The instructions that come with it aren't very good, so here's a few clues: 1. I used a laptop running Windows 7. Connecting the USB cable caused a driver to be automatically download from the Windows Update site - no need for anything special 2. Download a copy of FORScan. Click the Settings icon and uncheck the Demo and Debug options. 3. Connect the gadget to the ODB port of your car, turn on the ignition (but don't start the engine), and run FORScan. The two indicators (Interface and Vehicle) at the bottom of the FORScan window should show green and the Vehicle and information interface Log screen (the top icon) should show messages confirming connection and communicating with the various control modules and showing the data 4. The switch on the gadget is for selecting HS (high speed) and MS (medium speed) CAN bus connections. FORScan will prompt you to flick the switch as necessary. Note that on my sample, the instruction sheet had the positions shown the wrong way round... That's really about it - experiment at your will and/or peril. On my car, it showed a diagnostic trouble code for the left front ABS wheel sensor. The chip used in the connector is definitely a clone. FORScan shows that the adapter identifies itself as an ELM327 v1.5, which according to Wikipedia doesn't exist. It's probably a clone running ELM firmware v1.4 - if I find out more, I'll come back and edit this info. But hey, it does work. One other thing that I've not tried in anger - if you register for the FORSCan forum, you can then download and install an extended licence key. What extra goodies it allows you to do I've not yet played with... Hope this helps

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this device reset srs airbag module??**
A: This device is merely an interface. It would depend upon what software you use with it.

**Q: Will this work with vauxhall astra gtc (2015) for the purpose of relearning and adding new keys including remote locking?**
A: I don't think so but I might be wrong. This is generally for Ford Mazda and jaguar stuff but I'm sure there's a Vauxhall one somewhere about. It may read codes on Vauxhall but not I doubt do advanced features...

**Q: Does this work for a seat Leon 2013 and what software do u i install on my computer?**
A: Dont think you need this one. Try VW forums for advice, you may just need a simpler one. You will need vagcom which is free

**Q: Will i be able to get to the pcm to activate the cruise control on a ford focus**
A: I've used it on my 2015 Focus ST to activate the auto-locking feature using the cable with FocCcus software. It can be used to activate cruise control providing you have all the required cruise control hardware fitted to the car to use it.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works with E46 320ci, after some effort...
*by A***N on 17 September 2021*

There's nothing physically wrong, concerning, or subpar, about this. Well, I'm assuming all the internals are fine since I'm no electrical engineer and I'd update this if it fails for some reason. As for the 4 stars: The documentation provided is a little subpar, and may lead you to believe it's s incompatible with your car. On Linux I tried scantool and OBD Auto Doctor, which didn't work, and on Windows I tried Forscan, ScanMaster, and I believe PCMSCAN. I finally managed to get it to work in MS-can mode with ScanMaster after manually entering the connection details. If you can get the drivers and software working (you should be able to), it's a lot more convenient than the small screen you'd otherwise have to deal with with a normal scanner.
