Although made of two halves, the plastic is thick enough and the join solid enough that I have no fear of them splitting, and I suspect they could take quite a lot of rough treatment. The medium, loud and very loud eggs are quite similar in the sound they make, just more harsh towards the very loud end. The soft shaker is completely different - probably filled with sand instead of what sounds like grit in the others. It makes a wonderful shhhhh sound that is very easy to control - my favourite by far, although maybe too quiet for playing with too many other instruments; it would be perfect for home/studio recording where you can control the levels. These eggs are great to have at jam sessions where there are people who don't play and instrument - anyone can grab one of these and join in. Review: Good quality and price - I use these for EYFS teaching and the kids love them. They start asking for them as soon as they see the bag I carry them in. The different shot sizes allow us to compare their different sounds which is a nice additional element to the games we play with them.
