Incredible - Its worth it!
Photos in sequence: Day0, Day1, Day2, Day3, Day4Product = 9watt Green killing machineTank = Super fish home 110. 108 litre, tropical set up.Fish Stock = Tetras, Corys, Ottos.Reason for purchase = LAST RESORT!Added to tank day 0 at 6:45pm. Placed it next to filter to disguise it being there, thankfully it fitted in well. Was wondering if there was a best placement in the tank for efficiency but could not find anything on internet nor on instructions so only negative point I.e would have been good to know it doesn’t matter (may have missed this). So took plunge for next to the filter. Instructions were ok apart from this.I thought it didn’t matter as long as it had a good flow to the inlet and outlet. My logic being that everything going in green dies then the filter I have is a good speed and will pick up debris from the killing machine output. I am not an expert but using simple logic.I went for 9w killing machine as this covered up to a 200litre tank, going 24w may resolve the green faster but will obviously use more electricity. I am using aqua pure gell balls in my filter with activated carbon on a generic cycle. Still the green kept on coming back!I have had the lights on a timer previously for 14 hours with no issue - however increased light contributes to algae bloom so be warned, this may have been the catalyst!.Did a water change and each time, boom algae bloom! Tried everything in desperation, maxed out water changes , filter changes and algae clear chemicals ( in desperation!) the cycle always started grey cloudy but again algae bloom came back. Was getting really worried after using numerous chemical algae clear ups which I had tried so went for this. Note: removed activated carbon per chemical attempt but still no avail.I did think the flow from the killing machine was not right but patience is a virtue and it has seemed to do the trick! The outlet pressure doesn’t seem to be enough however patience is a virtue and finally all good. Am keeping it on all the time as it has not just cleared up the algae bloom but also helping in keeping the water crystal clear!Overall patience is important! In my experience of the product it has done what it has advertised for the size of my tank! Value for money is good as I don’t have to use clear up chemicals anymore which always worried me plus the cost of using such chemicals makes this “always on” product worth while!

Green water? Buy this now!!!! (Long review)
First of all: DO NOT BUY THIS AS A TANK FILTER. There is one tiny and extremely porous sponge to stop particles clogging the inside - you cannot open the bulb housing. You will need to run this alongside your filter.Water in my tank suddenly turned green, having never experienced this before I tried performing 50% water changes every day for a week, one total 100% change and tank sterilisation, different chemicals and treatments and bought a new filter. Most of the information I could find online pointed to adding a thick layer of floating plants to absorb the nutrients and light, but I then stumbled across this device.I bought the 9w for my 118l tank. Installed it as soon as it arrived, and 1 week later my water was crystal clear. 100% recommend this product, don’t mess about with any other methods you find (however I imagine they work well as preventative measures). The package arrived factory sealed with the outlet tube missing, but this part is not vital to the performance of the product and Amazon kindly gave me a small discount in order for me to avoid having to wait for a replacement. Not unsightly in the tank, it is quite small and would be easy to hide if you wanted to. Slightly noisy but if you don’t use the outlet tube and place it with the top of the steriliser about 1/2cm under the water surface it is much quieter. Very easy to set up, comes with instructions but it is self explanatory and there are plenty of videos online that show you how to set it up in more detail.I will be running this for a few more weeks and then removing it to save energy as I don’t think this has to be a permanent fixture. Should I see the problem returning I will not hesitate to put this back in for a while.

Excellent product, works without any chemicals, within days you'll have a clear tank
Newbie to tank fish, purchased this for my 3ft holding tank, where I keep my baby fry, from my pond, I had a Algae bloom, so had to try this, as baby fish are delicate to chemicals etc, cleared the tank within 5 days, and will no doubt get cleaner as the days go on, the unit is small enough to not over power the tank, works silently, flow is a bit slow but that's perfect for Baby fish, and filter inlet is small, so wont suck up the fry, and if you have other filters pumps, its should not be an issue, would definitely recommend this item, very easy to set up , all cables came connected, was just plug in and play, I washed it before putting it in the tank ,with tank water, then once in tank, turned it upside down to release air bubbles ,sorted. good price, as trying to deal with algae etc in a tank can work out expensive and time consuming, this deals with the issues perfectly. My Pleco's I purchased, are now also helping to keep the tank clear of growing algae. I added a few more hiding places for them too , i am more than happy with this product and would definitely recommend, make sure you buy the right one for the tank volume .

Discreet, powerful, and does the job.
I wanted some extra controls for algae in my 125 litre planted tropical freshwater aquarium and from reviews this product seemed to be a good choice.Set up and installation was easy and the unit is relatively discreet and unobtrusive. It's been in situ for about 10 days now and the black sooty algae that was building up on some of my plants has gone almost completely. It's easy to clean which is an added bonus and the pump is quite powerful so it helps with aeration too. The only negative comment is that the control box is fitted with suckers and while they're great for attaching to glass they don't work on a laminated wooden cabinet like mine. This is a very minor issue but it maybe worth consideration for future design updates so that there is a choice of mounting options. Overall happy with performance so far and for the price it's very good value for money.
