It's interesting to note that most other authors of gay romance writers (that I've read anyway) are female. It shows too. Since Damon has "walked the walk" his characters are much more believable and are 3d, meaning that the female authors characters tend to be more 2d. This story had a lot to do with comics/special affect makeup/NY (where the author resides). I intend to read all of his book format stories rather than searching out other gay romance authors for the time being. His sex scenes are super hot, totally believable (in comparison to a female author - Damon has likely been there done that) and always get my cock bulging - for what it's worth. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Action Figures *by L***G on Reviewed in the United States on September 22, 2020* I really enjoyed Damon Suede's "Bad Idea." It was a page-turner that kept me engrossed in the story, punctuated with some well-described romantic encounters. The characters were so real, not cardboard cutouts. Trip Spector was frustrating with his indecision that seemed to not fit his talent as an artist and his physical appeal. Silas Goolsby is the sweetheart of the book always leading with his heart and passion, thinking after the fact. Being an Alabama boy with a thick drawl also made his jump of the page for me. The Big Dog Comic chief Cliff was so sleazy. I found myself shouting at the book cover, "Don't touch me!" Kurt as the gaming company head was adorably callous and insensitive. Ziggy as the disabled acid-tongued tech genius also grabs you. The entire Stone family including Max who likes to dismember action figures seemed so specific that they were real. While it seemed to take forever for the lovers to reunite, I found myself having really enjoyed a story well told. Not sure where we're gonna land.Plot: 3.5 stars, because more than half the plot is unusual and good and gorgeous, but parts were teeth-grindingly annoying and this is how I protest. Maybe there are people who learn a thing and instantly discard it to wallow and whine. Maybe two of them are in a relationship, the fools. These two do this thing more than once, and that's too many for me. Too plot-device-y.The characters: See, because of the plot, this is tough. But Silas is my favorite, so he gets 5 stars even so. Trip? I want to make him equal, but he is more of a putz. Way more. I don't care about reasons, he slacked big-time on the learning curve. 3 stars. So, mushed together and divided out, that's 4.The...tidbits. Messages, funny lines, the kid, the wisdom and the joy and the kindness, the loving couple and sharp friend and the man who loves him, all the bits and pieces that sent me up out of the book with a smile or a tear or a sigh, 10 stars. I don't care if that's too many. Ultimately, it's what I come out absolutely adoring about this story.3.5 + 4 + 10 = 17.5. Divided by 3 is more than 5.
