Great quality. Actually makes jam making easier
I wasn't sure what the quality of this pan would be like as it didn't seem that expensive compared with some others. However, I couldn't be more pleased with it. The base is nice and solid and thick enough to give great heat distribution meaning that the chance of anything sticking/burning is greatly reduced. I have an apricot tree and a greengage tree in my garden so I'm often required to make large quantities of jam. I was previously using an old, cheap pan with a converter plate for my induction hob and the difference between that setup and this new pan is unbelievable: Not only does the jam come out better due to the lack of hot spots on the bottom, but the process also takes about a third less time because the heat is getting into the jam more efficiently. The pouring lip on the edge of the pan makes filling jars with a funnel easier too. The quality is excellent, with sturdy all-metal construction and the brackets riveted to the main body; I very much doubt I'll ever need to buy another.

Meets expectations
I am perfectly satisfied with this maslin pan. I had one already but it is aluminium and rather pitted so I wasn't very happy about using it still. I looked at 3 or 4 different ones online for comparison, and also one which a local shop ordered in for me. They had actually said it would be a Kitchen Craft one, and when I looked these up online I thought I'd be quite happy with that so let them order it for me (I do really like to use local shops when I can). But when it turned up it was not Kitchen Craft but Tala (but not a model I have since found online) and it looked rather cheap to me, so I did not buy it. If they had got me this Kitchen Craft one I would have been happy, which I am now with this one! I have used it for several lots of chutney and syrup and it does the job perfectly. It has a completely flat bottom so it sits nicely on our Rayburn, though I mostly use it on our electric cooker (has the old type of coil rings). It is a good size for me to wield; I would not want a bigger one even though this meant doing one of my chutneys in two lots. I think a bigger one would be rather too heavy. I'm not a weakling but when I am moving a pan of very hot stuff from cooker to table I prefer to have something that's not too heavy. I don't honestly think the pouring lip is much use but this doesn't bother me as I don't use it anyway. I always ladle the contents into jars, or into jugs and then bottles. I would say it is very good value for the money.

Cleans like a dream no catching on base
The reviews here were so positive I chose this product over known more expensive brands. I’ve now made 2 batches of marmalade and here is a pic of the pan base before washing. Just washing up liquid and a cloth was all that was required. My previous Kilner enamelled Maslin was not up to the job having carbonised on the base very quickly. This is a perfect replacement I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Good quality pan, a pleasure to use
A good quality pan of decent thickness. It worked perfectly on my induction hob and I had no issues with hot spots or marmalade sticking to the pan. The printed scale in litres and pints is very helpful. It proved easy to clean and I get the impression it will last for years.

Good solid pan.
We do a lot of preserving so this pan is going to have to stand up to regular use. First off pan seems solid and functional, was weary of getting very thin steel walls, but it all seems up to spec. For thirty odd pounds it is worth it. Only bad point is that the ink transfer on the inside (yes that’s not etched onto the steel) that gives volumes is about 10-15% out of accuracy. So is useless, plus the ink smudges if you push you’re thumb over it.. hoping that it’s not a toxic ink.. I scrubbed it in hot soapy water but it still smudges. Perhaps it needs a solvent to shift it. Don’t want an unstable ink/marker getting into my preserves! Quite frankly could have done with a volume measure, as everything is weighed anyway. Hence the dropping of a star rating.

A very good product and much better than struggling to use an ordinary saucepan.
A good quality jam pan that makes jam-making so much easier than when I was using a large saucepan. I found the design of this pan allows more steam to escape, which reduces the liquid more than when using a conventional large saucepan, making it easier to get a good set and avoid runny jam - I found I had to reduce the amount of water in the recipe when using a saucepan, but was able to follow the recipe exactly with this pan, with great results. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this product again as it seems to give a good balance between quality and price, so I think it's ideal for the seasonal/occasional jam and preserve maker, which I think most cooks probably are.

Great value pan!
Couldn’t be happier with this pan! Looks good, works great on my induction hob. Sturdy too and a perfect size for my ten pound ham! And the price knocked it out of the park! Arrived less than 24 hours after ordering. Literally saved my bacon!

Perfect for jam making
Absolutely perfect for jam/marmalade making. Deep enough to prevent serious splashing. Used it for a couple of years now and it still looks like new. Only once had a problem with burnt jam on the bottom. Soaked it overnight with a washing-up machine tablet and a little water and it came back to its pristine self.

Syltgryta

Fantastic jam pan
I discovered this jam pan on a YouTube channel Red Rose Homestead that in my opinion is an expert canning instructor . She uses this pan so since I have about a 100 pounds of pears and plums to can I ordered it. It took some time to get here because I think it is from the UK. It was extremely well packed. It is an excellent pan. Pour spout, a movable handle and side handle. The pan design is wider at the top than the bottom really helps with making jams for cooking products down. This pan could be used for many things not just jam. Stainless steel and heavy weight---this is not a cheap flimsy pan. Note it doesn't come with a lid ( you don't need lid for example doing jam/jelly) but probably one you have could fit down into it if you needed a lid. Highly recommend this pan. I was lucky and got it on sale but is worth the full price but I love a sale!
