Gradients
I especially like the different gradients of charcoal which give me varying "colours" (grey, dark grey and black).Good hardness, they haven't broken with use yet. Although iv only used them for a small project, they do it well.

Must Buy
This product can be a little bit on the expensive side but it's really useful for art students or just anyone who wants to use charcoal in their art works. There's also a white charcoal pencil which is useful when you want to creat highlights etc.The set is worth spending the money and I recommend buying this! (Also comes with a sharpener)

Provide a proper sharpener
First things first. These are amazing for drawing with, i love them and will buy them again. Absolutely fantastic tondraw withMy issue is they come with a sharpener thats useless. The charcoal pencils are ok to sharpen to begin with but once you get into the pencil a bit, its not sharpening, its breaking off in the sharpener. So i will buy a better sharpener to see if this is a sharpening problem or a pencil fault but its an awful waste of pencil when the charocal keeps breaking and getting stuck

Soft and yielding charcoal 'feel'
Magnificent set of SOFT charcoal pencils + a white. Lovely velvety tones which can be applied very delicately or laid down heavily with ease to achieve a beautiful tonal range with the 'feel' that you would expect from non-pencil charcoal sticks. Derwent the pencil experts have excelled again with this lovely set. Very convenient for field sketching and note-taking, the white proves to be useful for modifying tones and adding highlights. Remember to take a regular pencil sharpener, or the Derwent Pastel Pencil Sharpener (which is suitable for pastel and charcoal pencils, although I have found that a regular sharpener is fine with these) with you. I think that I will be ordering these again :)

Easy to use
These are some great quality charcoal pencils which provide: 1 light, 2 medium and 2 dark along with a white pencil too. I used these as part of my A level fine art course and they lasted a long time and were very easy to blend too, the case they're provided with is very sturdy and protect the pencils a lot and a sharpener is provided too which works ok for the most part
