Is this compatible with the peloton bike? is it ant+?

The Peloton operates using Ant+ and Bluetooth technology. The Dash HRM has both functions but in our experience Bluetooth has always been a faster connection. How can you safely wash the strap after use?

I use a damp cloth with some antibacterial soap and haven't had any issues. On a side note, I definitely recommend this HR monitor as I've used mine on an average of six days per week for over a year now with zero issues.

It only tracked me for 6 minutes of my 45 minute workout. i got it wet like suggested. i'm assuming i'm doing something wrong but i don't know what?

This may be more of an issue with the app you're using (or device you're using the app on) as the unit was already doing its job of picking up your (heartbeat) electrical signal. Another issue may be that your chest strap was too loose and slipped up or down. Also make sure you're aligning the unit properly with the left & right markings as seen on the backside of your unit. What app are you using? I have been using the Wahoo RunFit app for almost two years now with zero issues. Hope this helps!

Is this only good for running? Will it track calories burned when strength training?

The HRM doesn't count calories, it's just a sensor. I use the Polar Beat app which has a "Strength Training" option. Once you 'complete' your activity, it will show calories burned. The calories burned appears to sync over to Google Fit as well, if you're using Android. Endomondo also has an option for Strength Training, but I don't use it (presumably it counts/tracks calories as well).
