I bought the C-1 Shubb capo for my Clapton signature Acoustic- the Martin 000-28ec. This guitar has a 1 3/4 inch neck with a modified-V. In other words, a chunky neck: My Dunlop Trigger Fly capo was too tight and even a standard Trigger put too much of a squeeze on the strings. Thankfully, the C-1 is spot on. It works by fitting it loose then dialling in the required tension by twisting the screw. Once done, you can easily clip / unclip without any adjustments unless you’re moving more than a fret up the neck. Even then it only takes seconds to adjust. I was able to fit the C-1 from 1st fret to 7th without any buzzing or other problems whilst playing fingerstyle / steady strumming. Beyond that, the capo was not wide enough to guarantee clarity. Advantages: Fits both standard and wider 6 string necks; ability to fine tune tension thereby avoiding unnecessary pressure on neck or tuning issues; small and unobtrusive. Disadvantages: Not as quick to fit as a trigger; clipping the C-1 behind the nut / on the headstock when not in use may require its own adjustment (it does on the 000-28ec). Bottom line: small and perfectly formed, the C-1 is the best capo I’ve used on my acoustic guitar, and at a reasonable price too.

Great version of an old favourite . It works brilliantly with no turning problems, but the icing on the cake is, it looks absolutely fantastic. Shubb capos are the industry standard anyway, but in gold they are sublime. Plus they don’t cost the Earth.

Well made capo. I like adjustable tension, as you can ensure there's no fret buzz with this. Looks and feels good quality.

Got this capo as my current one wouldn’t press all the strings down on my 12 string guitar, but this one does, more or less. This capo is quite clearly much better quality than my previous capo. This capo allows you to tighten it if you need to, something that my old capo couldn’t do. I like the rubber feel of this capo that goes over your guitar neck, it is soft and stable. Even if you don’t have a 12 string guitar I would recommend this capo as it is superior in every way to those cheaper standard capos.

Beautiful addition to my guitar addition. Looks real quality in brass, although it appears almost gold. Small but perfectly formed. Really looks and feels quality. Good value too. RECOMMENDED

Best capo I’ve tried so far. We will see how it holds up, seems to be built well. Easy to clip on the guitar. Nice sound, hits all strings evenly with no buzzing on first attempt. Gonna buy a few more of these. Nice to have a spare as I don’t live near any guitar shops. Would make an excellent gift for any guitar player! My acoustic is a Martin GPCXAE with wider neck. Fits perfect. 10/10 easy.
