Excellent surface and really good for for complex work
I started my career in illustration using CS10 boards and paper. These were usually, for me, supplied by the client which was a good thing as they were very expensive. These days I work as a freelance, so I have to buy my own materials. If CS10 were still available I might be tempted to use it now and again, but it isn't, so I have had to search out something that comes close. This is it.It is delightfully smooth, and the pen glides across it without a hitch. I use Rotring Rapidograph and Art Pens, as well as a traditional dip pen, and they all work really well on this surface.I sometimes draw a sketch in pencil before applying ink. When you rub out the pencil lines you sometimes find, on cheaper surfaces, that the intensity of the pen line is degraded as well, leaving you a grey rather than a solid black line. This doesn't happen on this product. I use a Rotring 0.5 Tikky pencil for my roughs, and I erase with a Rotring B-20 rapid eraser.I'm sure it will work with other stuff as well, but I have given the details to get you started if you are new to this type of work and are looking for some guidelines to help get you started.I attach an example illustration, completed on this board, scanned and printed onto a vellum paper.

great value
This paper is excellent-I have just started with coloured pencils and originally bought the much more expensive and to be honest thicker Bristol Board. However I have been delighted by how well this paper stands up to layer after layer of colour and quite a bit of rubbing out mistakes. The price is excellent and I will certainly buy this paper again-I can recommend it.

Bright white, very smooth, not for Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers!
I wanted some card to use with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and have been using Strathmore Bristol as recommended by professional handmade card makers online, but was looking for a cheaper alternative. Unfortunately this is not suitable. It is very smooth and bright white - whiter than Canson Bristol, which is in turn whiter than Strathmore Bristol. It stamps beautifully with clear stamps and Versafine Onyx Black ink. It stamps well with solid images and coloured ink. It does not take well to these markers with patchy results when using the markers to colour in an image, no blending of the colours and, when using a marker to lay down colour and using a waterbrush to move the colour, does not work. I'm sure this is not a fault of the paper - it is just not meant to be used in this way. I will use it to stamp solid images that do not need colouring in, and for card bases, as I love that it is bright white. I gave it 4 stars as I couldnt honestly say I loved it (5 stars) but I feel that is a bit mean as I am trying to use it in a way that was not intended by the makers and I will be able to use it in my cardmaking, just not with the Zig Clean Colour Markers!

Great Value Bristol Board
This is excellent quality and value Bristol Board. It's about as good as anything I've used, and at a lower price.I use it for black ink line drawing, and sometimes colouring with alcohol-based markers.Compared to other papers:Pluses are:* Heavy* Bright-white* Can take a lot of erasing* Good value for the weight* Takes in ink well - no bleedingMinus:* A touch slippery

Will be back for more
As someone who relies on their eraser (and a lot of trial-and-error) this paper is invaluable. The lack of texture means being able to make quick, smooth and concise lines that can be easily and effectively erased. That, and it arrived in a day with standard shipping!

Lovely high quality paper
I used this paper to create a greeting card using fineliner pens, soft pastels, and alcohol markers and it worked perfectly well with all these media. Really smooth and great finish.
