Bought back in 2018, still going strong with heavy use!
These bulbs are great!Yes, they're a little more expensive, though the pattern of the light they give off, as well as the colour temperature, dimming ability, and longevity so far have made that price well worth paying.I wouldn't hesitate to buy these again. In the time I've had these, I've had plenty of other LED bulbs come and go with less heavy use.Cannot fault these, well done Phillips!

Best LED (Dimmable) SES I have used
I purchased these bulbs to experiment with LED ses candles.Whilst they are dimmable I don't use this feature, however the dimmable bulbs seem to be of better quality than the non-dimmable ones I have tried previously. The plastic diffuser within the bulb helps spread the light and also makes the bulb more attractive when off.The beige plastic area holds the LED driver and does run warm (not as hot as a conventional bulb). Was so pleased with the light quality / colour that I have purchased more since. On some surfaces the light appears rather yellow but I actually like this. It seems the yellowing is more evident on a light oak table and may be to do with the finish on the wood.Expect large energy savings as a side benefit to not having to regularly change blown bulbs.

A good choice for my touch lamps
I bought these for a pair of 3-stage touch lamps in my front room. The three lamp settings are very good for controlling ambient light, when watching a film for example, and this product supports this. At the lowest setting these bulbs throw a pattern, even through a lamp shade. This does not bother me in the slightest but it might some. The pattern diminishes with increased brightness. The light is instant and the colour temperature is good - it’s warm but too strong.I can perceive a very, very slight flicker/pulsing with these lamps on one setting - but I think I’m sensitive to it. It really is very slight, so while it is worth mentioning I wouldn’t let it put you off. On the other brightness settings it goes away.I would happily buy again, but since they’re LED I don’t expect that to be any time soon!

The bulb of choice
Finding a good LED bulb isn’t as easy as it should be, especially if you want it candle-shaped and with the traditional UK bayonet fitting. Although these bulbs are far from the cheapest you can buy, I do think that they are the best I have seen as they give a good, bright light but in a perfect warm tone for use in the home. Instead of the glaring white or blue light it is common to find with LED bulbs these give a natural, warm light which not only illuminate well but also make the home look inviting. I have bought six of them so far and have them fitted in bedroom lamps, as well as wall lights in the living room. I like the fact that they are also very presentable when not switched on thanks to their attractive crystal design, and I plan to buy more for use in other light fittings.

They throw a bright but patterned light that creates a nice mottled effect on the glass shades around them
Three of these were a replacement for three halogen bulbs operated by a dimmer switch.Fast to start, they respond very well to the dimmer switch.Slightly long for our short glass lamp shades, but that was not a problem as they up near the ceiling. They throw a bright but patterned light that creates a nice mottled effect on the glass shades around them, and the ceiling above.Turned down they produce a nice warm sultry glow.An excellent replacement for the halogen bulbs, and in fact I am pleased to say much better.

bad luck I thought
When you install these light bulbs they give a lovely warm light and they do not look unlike a conventional bulb. However considering they are from a major manufacturer I have to report that they are substandard. One stopped working within two weeks, bad luck I thought. I ordered two new bulbs, one to replace, one as a spare. Another has just failed and when I went to replace it with the spare the spare did not work straight out of the box. That makes 3 faulty bulbs out of 7 in a very short time. Incandescent bulbs never had this short live span. I like LED bulbs and haven't had this problem with other similar bulbs from other manufacturers. Has anyone else experienced the same?

Bulb flickers at low light
Had these bulbs installed in a new light fitting at home by an electrician who also changed the summer switch to one compatible with LEDs.The lights are beautiful and even at full brightness but there is a noticeable flicker at low light which is regular enough to be annoying when reading etc. Given the price of the bulbs, this was quite disappointing.I'd recommend for users who won't dim their lights or who will mostly use the bulbs at full brightness.

Top quality, bargain pricing.
I have a few of the older (and considerably more expensive) DimTone Philips lamps, and these don't go quite as warm (yellow) as those. The overall effect is almost as good though, and considering the price of these they work very well. Compared directly with a 28W halogen candle bulb it is slightly brighter. As for the dimming its a good match down to about 30%, below that it still goes dimmer but the halogen goes a bit warmer in colour. For reference the older more expensive DimTone versions matched the colour to a dimmer level. If you actualy look at the lamp theres an obvious transition between the 2 colours of LEDs used as you dim up and down, but the effect in the room is natural.I had ordered only one to test and compare, I'll be ordering more.
