Where it stops it stays. It's a fantastic product. **Q: Can it be used in an apartment on the first floor?** A: i'm in a flat too but i was advised by the manufacturer that it wasn't suitable for plasterboard which my ceiling is as it's a new build. i used toggle fixings and it has been fine but i am careful not to overload it. **Q: Is this for indoor and outdoor use or only for indoor?** A: I would say indoors - we have ours in a utility room. It has replaced a well used ‘Sheila Maid’ as we wanted something that looked neater as part of a refurbishment project. The ratchet works well and makes it easier to use - no winding the cord onto the cleat anymore. I suppose you could put it under a carport or some such at a push. Hope that helps. We are very pleased with it. Incidentally you need to secure it into joist or other substantial timber. We had to lift the floor in the room above to add a noggin to the joist - which was a bit of a palaver - so it’s a relief that it works so well after all the hassle of that! **Q: Can pegs be used to peg the washing on , or are the rods too thick to use pegs.** A: Rods are too thick for pegs. I sometimes put clothes on coathangers and hang them from the rods.
