Car Headrest Mount for Swivel & Flip Style Portable DVD Player-9 Inch

We bought this to car mount a 9in portable DVD/Media player and have been delighted with the results. The mount fits the unit snugly, and a very wide elastic & velcro strap means you can mount this on the rear of pretty much any car head-rest. Once affixed, the unit is very, very stable. My wife drives like Lewis Hamilton sometimes and this thing doesn't budge an inch. The sides of the device remain accessible, so you can get to switches and most importantly for me, still access the USB slot to switch media in and out.This is a tough bit of kit - dare I even say kid proof?

After my grandson started kicking out at the usual "tray type" dvd player holders in front of him in the car we knew we had to do something.I discovered how the swivel screen portable dvd players could be swivelled around and present themselves as a sort of flat tv.I then found this headrest mount which is a joy but you must fit the holder while the car is stationary as you need to stretch the broad elastic, velcro is present in a wide deep band and one end fixes fast to the other.The dvd player is put into the holder from the top and a Velcro held piece of fabric holds the it closed.This of course means that you might have to stop the car to change the disc if the holder is not directly in front of you. If it in front of a child in a baby seat and you are sat in the next seat it will be awkward to do while you are wearing your seat belt.You have to take the player out of the holder, lean the screen forward so that you can open the lid inside to take out a disc and put another in then fit the player back in the holder. The "tray" type holders allow you to do this much more easily. it's swings and roundabouts.They make a 7" version too. You'll notice the side retainers are wide elastic - this means a 7.5" or 8" player can fit in the 7" version too by stretching the side elastic.I found on one dvd player that one of the elastic retainer covered the hole where the power plug was to be pushed in. I made a tiny niche in the elastic so it would spread either side of the plug and not put pressure the plug. If the elastic frays I'll just cut it out.My 9" dvd player travels in a Case Logic case (see my review) and the headrest holder lies beneath the dvd player in the case.Likewise our 7" swivel dvd player travels in the LARGER of the two Hama dvd cases with the 7" headrest holder lying beneath it. So our old Hama case with the tray that got kicked now is used to store extra cables and such.It was a great idea using elastic and Velcro for this purpose. Just a shame knowing that elastic will finally perish. Must get as much use out of it as we can.

This does exactly what it says and is very easy to fit. The only issue I've had was when I changed cars and the new cars head rests were substantially smaller than the previous, this means the portable DVD is a little wobbly as the holder doesn't fit as tightly

..... with the DBPOWE 9.5 Inch portable DVD player.is fits very well and the quallity is great. This is so easy to put on the head rest no fiddly parts. My inlaws bought a different make mount for their dvd player and wish they had of purchased this. Because it is so easy to put on and take off when not using the car. My inlaw has artharitus in her wrist an this cover is so easy for her to use. A must buy wen puchasing a DVD player for in the car (I think)

It's ok...have to wedge toy behind it do screen is in right position for my 2 year old who's eye level is a lot lower than head rest.

I bought 2 of these for my children's 9 inch portable DVD players and wasn't expecting much. I was very pleasantly surprised, they are brilliant! Very secure on the headrests and easily accessible to change the DVDs in each of the players. They were also a perfect fit, well worth the money and I definately recommend this product.

Useless

Bought this for my 9" portable DVD player to replace the utterly awful case I bought from Argos (with the player).It's simple to fit, seems well made and perfectly holds the player in place (was a lifesaver for my 17mth old on a recent 4hr drive which ended up being 7hrs). Thoroughly recommended.
