Does it take much strength to use it?

No its so very easy to use, no strength needed whatsoever. So much easier than trying to cut up a pineapple with a knives.

Can anyone tell me the diameter of the cutting edge?

I can't unfortunately but it will go into any pineapple really. For me just slices are too thin and they fall apart.

Can it go in the dishwasher?

Well I suppose it could but to be honest I just rinse mine under the tap job done

is it stainless steel?

To be honest I’m not sure. We’ve used it ( and washed it) several times and there’s no sign of rust. It’s definitely one of the best gadgets I’ve bought in a while. My children can use it, very safe and easy to use and well worth the price we paid. Hope this helps.
