Faultless - Incredible Value
Had been meaning to buy the complete Dickens Collection for some time. Finally, seeing as this year is his 300th anniversary, thought in for a penny, in for a pound and ordered the complete works. I had purchased Wordsworth Classics before which I thought for the money represented great value. However the current editions are truly superb. Each one complete and unabridged, good quality paper, fine printing, original illustrations (not forgetting the beautiful cover paintings) and a fine scholarly forward from eminent figures in the field for every book. OK, so there's no copyright costs but even so, at £1.99 each (and the longest novels run at 750 plus pages of fine print) they represent truly incredible value. Wordsworth Publishers deserve a medal for bringing these fine works (and other classics too) within the reach of even the poorest in the community. I have only one suggestion which could improve the already great value, which strictly speaking is aimed more at Amazon. It would be a help if Amazon sold the books as a single package of collected works by various authors.

A classic example of great literiture....,
I have just finished reading this book and I decided to write a review for it so hear we go. This book is just amazing - there are literally no words to describe how good the book it. The description is perfect and there is so much detail that you actually feel like you are there in the marshes! I don't really know what to say in this review really apart from that the book is just a classic example of great Literiture! As well as that, the book is also very easy to read and I found it very easy to read even though I am only 11 years old; if you can read this review then you can read Great Expectations - you just need to keep going but the important thing is that you enjoy it. If you don't, then what's the point in reading the book? It jumps straight into the action on the first page when Pip meets 'Able Magwithch,' an escaped fugitive! The book follows the life of an orphan named Pip. He goes threw many exiting adventures and meets many strange characters like Miss Havesham (sorry about the spelling). So overall, the book is just a classic and I will always have it beside me on my bookshelf! Truely astonishing! By 11 year old, The Demon.

A MUST read!
I've always loved Charles Dickens novels as they portray an air of elegance within Victorian England. This one is an absolute classic and should be compulsory reading for anyone above the age of 16, as it shows how in the face of obscurity, one young man can become a gentleman. A beautifully written story with oodles of humour and sincerity all rolled into one captivating tale.

Great Expectations delivered!
The only Dicken's book I've read before is Christmas Carol, such a long time ago I had forgotten how good he was at writing a picture. To me reading this book has been like watching a film it's so descriptive, all the smoky corners, misty marshes and the living, breathing City of London of the 19th century are right there on the page. All the characters, apart from their names, could be real people and they play their parts well - from a young Pip caught in a churchyard by an escaped villian from the hulks to Miss Havisham caught in her own wedding day nightmare. Beautifully written, a must for all Dicken's fans.

Great price for a classic book.
I have bought a few books from this collection because I want to read more classics without breaking my bank account. The books here are a great price and I am sure I will buy a few more.

I love classics but did find this hard going
I can't say that I enjoyed this read. I generally love reading classics and finally got around to this one which I was very excited for. However, the language used in this is pretty hard going and I found myself having to go back over lines multiple times to fully understand what was going on. Overall: I personally didn't enjoy it and certainly didn't find it page turning. Wouldn't recommend.

Exatamente como na foto! Vale muito a pena principalmente pelo preço! A fonte é média-pequena, ainda assim não é desconfortável. Não espera a que houvesse ilustrações, foi uma surpresa muito massa! Eu adorei!

I liked the illustrations given in this book. Anyone who is interested in reading Dickens should start with this book as it is a bildungsroman and highly relatable. Pip is a lovable character, Miss Havisham is interesting too, the book is realistic in approach. Quality of pages is not good, cover page could have been be attractive.
