Review: Perfect for Discus Care - Fluval Peat Granules have been a game-changer for my discus tank! These granules have gradually lowered my pH to the perfect level, creating an ideal environment for my discus. I love that the change was slow and steady, preventing any shock to my fish. In addition to stabilising pH, the granules also release beneficial tannins into the water. These tannins have not only enhanced the natural look of the tank but also seem to have boosted my discus’s immune system. Since using this product, my discus have been more active, vibrant, and appear to be thriving. If you’re looking for a natural, effective way to improve water parameters and support your discus’s health, I highly recommend Global Peat Granules. It’s a must-have for any serious discus keeper!
Review: Life saver - Brilliant stuff lowered my Ph from 9 to low 7s high 6s in the matter of a week, perfect for my apistograma pair, 190 tank

## Features

- Usage: This filter media is suitable for freshwater. Ideal for use with most canister filters; for best results, replace every 4 weeks

## Questions & Answers

**Q: A similar product by eheim advises - do not use together with active carbon, is there any truth in this with the fluval product ? what advice ?**
A: I use it together with active carbon. Whilst in my experience it will still soften the water/reduce pH, I think the active carbon does counteract the browning/yellowing of the water to some degree

**Q: Can this be used to hatch killifish eggs?**
A: Sorry don't have a clue!

**Q: Does this work with U2 type one?**
A: There are videos on YouTube so you can see how this filter works.

**Q: Does this reduce ph and kh simultaneously? If so, does anyone know how much i would need for 600l tropical?**
A: No it won’t affect KH, and peat will have less affect at higher KH.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Effective media for softening aquarium water.
*by S***F on 10 October 2016*

This is a very effective way of softening your water and making it a little more acidic. Using this product does add a little discolouration to the water but then most tanks are so bright the fish might actually be happier with it being a little darker. I use a small amount of this in my external filter and change it every 3 months (every 2 filter cleaning cycles). I think I'm right in believing this doesn't go well with active carbon. I personally use ceramic blocks, various sponges, (both for good bacteria and for removing larger debris) and ammonia remover media. My fish is a more obscure type of community aquarium and the fish seem to be happy with this setup.
