Debut studio album by the English rock band, originally released in 1963. Of the album's 14 songs, eight were written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, including hit single and title track 'Please Please Me' and 'Love Me Do', which was a number one hit in the United States in 1964. Review: Classic album - One of the most important and iconic recordings in popular music history. It's incredible just how quickly the Beatles developed as writers pushing the limits of recording all in just 8 short years. They revolutionised pop music. This is their debut album recorded in just 25 hours- an incredible feat compared to the months and years many contemporary artists spend on their music today. The sound is crisp. The early gimmicky stereo with instruments on left and vocals on the right channel are a bit odd to modern ears but back in the day pop music was recorded for mono am radio and mono vinyl singles and albums. Stero was the niche preserve of the older wealthier hi-fi trailblazers. Review: Nice, good - Nice to go back to my youth

A great record by the still number one group. The Beatles.
Have been a Beatles fan way back in the 1960s when I was a teenager. Bought all their LPs and singles then.. These records have become tired with use. So I decided to replace them with fresh LPs which have been remixed and reproduced in stereophonic sound. They sound is quite amazing now giving me the same thrill I felt when I first heard them 60 plus years ago. The Beatles are still the number one group.

Great Album
My "MISSING" Beatles CD! NEVER HAD FULL COLLECTION. If you want to cheer yourself up, play 'I Saw Her Standng There' when you are doing boring kitchen jobs...lifts the spirits no end!!

One, Two, Three, Four...and music changed for ever.
A historical document of the precise moment when popular music was changed forever. Sure, it was The Beatles set list and their record company was unsure of their capabilities. Against modern recording techniques this sounds dated but it really is of no consequence as the energy that the group throws into their performance more than makes up for it. Excellent and of course it will please please you.

Help!
I headline my review as 'Help!'. Why do I do this? Well like most positive reviewers, this is a great album, but is it? I do not know what George or Paul or John had for breakfast on those important recording dates. But what I can tell you is that this album's future depends on whether it is listened to in stereo or mono. I could draw upon other reviewers' nostalgic comments on this potential great album, but if I listen to this album in stereo first, I guess I would have not rated this album the historic respect it does indeed does deserve. How can I say this? Well, indeed I did buy this album on vinyl, but in stereo..........Enough said. Yes, I have bought the post 'Rubber Soul' remastered albums, and boy do I wish I could buy 'please please me', but to hear john in one speaker and bass in another speaker (stereo), kills this album, hence I've refrained from buying this remastered cd. So, true Beatles, rock fans, spread the word, unless you can tell me to buy this remastered 'stereo' version and that it does reflect the beauty of this outstanding album (mono). I hope I am wrong, so I can have this wonderful album on cd, and partttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttty. But then I wondered why would EMI released a 'mono' version of the studio albums? I guess they do it for exactly for 'please please me' as they no doubt know there is a crucial sound experience, difference. Please tell me I am wrong so I can once again have this wonderful album, on cd. Help!

Very Pleasing
Finally a long awaited and completely updated version of this most classic of all albums. I am glad they decided to go for the stereo version even if it isn't the purist preference and it is definitely an improvement on my vinyl stereo original considering it was only recorded on twin track tape in the first place. The history of PPM is well documented so I am not going to repeat all it here. Just a couple of personal comments: I like 'PS I Love You' (unlike a fellow reviewer !) and I still think it would have been a stronger A Side than 'Love Me Do'. I also believe the same even more so of 'Ask Me Why' although, in this case I wholeheartedly endorse the choice of 'Please Please Me' - a terrific song and I can still remember hearing it on the radio as my mother did the ironing when it was in the charts way back then... As a CD package, I like how it's been done - especially with dates and places on the photo's. The mini documentary is good too. My only minor gripe is that it is a cardboard holder rather than a plastic case ; otherwise a great job and does not disappoint.

Purchased for personal listening. Please Please Me is a timeless debut from The Beatles, and this remastered edition sounds crisp and clear. A great way to experience the early energy and raw charm of the bandโs beginnings. Excellent addition for any music collection.

There are some legendary tracks on this CD like "I saw her standing there", "PS I love you". What a fabulous group and what an incredible era the 60's (and 70's) were. They made rock and roll seem like everyone could do it - which we found out later - couldn't be repeated. The songs are lots of fun.
