No. The cutter blades are to large to enter into your nostrils . Any hairs that protrude from said holes can be trimmed level , you may be able poke up a corner of a blade at an angle. But at the risk of nipping the inside of your nose. I'd sport out a fiver and get the right job, much less painful

Q: What's the closest trim you can get on this? Is it under 0.5mm?

With the raw trimmer head you can take the hair down to a bare stub, well below 0.5mm... But, doing this can be a little nippy on the skin, especially around the edge of the lips, where I've caught myself when using the trimmer with no attachment... So, yes, but beware.

No it’s not self sharpening however the blades are lasting a long time 👍

Personally I don't think it would be a good shaver for doing patterns, but it is a good shaver for trimming round ears, sideburns and neck.
