I bought this Master Lock for multiple rifle cases, and it does exactly what I need. Setting my own combination was quick and straightforward thanks to the clear instructions. Once set, the dials turn smoothly and feel solid.The build quality is solid for general use. It’s not meant for ultra-high security situations, but for luggage and rifle cases, it works perfectly (i.e., checks the compliance box for rifle cases in MA). I also like not having to carry a key around.Overall, reliable and convenient.

These luggage locks work perfectly! I used these while traveling this summer, no issues whatsoever. A very strong, secure, lock. They are easy to attach to just about any size luggage, easy on and off, no issues at luggage check-in at the airport. I felt confident ordering, as these are the "Master" lock brand, and I was not disappointed!

Locks have worked well for international travel. They’re a little finicky to work with, but nothing terrible, and have held up reliably.

We bough these to use on our luggage for vacation to 3 different countries. These stayed home all alone while our luggage traveled.Could not get one of them opened after setting the combination, the other would not lock at all. These are total junk and I would not recommend buying these at all. I messed with them for maybe 2 hours before giving up. Dummy me did not test them until we started to get ready for our trip, which was way after the return window closed. I have seen online that you can reset/reprogram these even if you do not have the code. So I did not trash them yet and will try to fix them, but so far have not tried.Masterlock should be ashamed to put there name on these, but then again Masterlock is not what they used to be, so why am I surprised??UPDATE Feb 2026. I have messed with these on and off over the last 2 years, tried all the tips and tricks that are online, nothing works. They are going in the trash..

Most carry on bags have built in locks these days but I wanted to get locks for my back pack and weekender - especially when leaving them with hotel and airbnb staff.This fit the bill exactly! They are sturdy and I appreciate the number lock instead of a physical key so it’s one less thing to keep track of in transit.The slim, flexible wire top of it makes it ideal for standard zippers. I previously had a regular metal number lock similar in size but it didn’t fit in the zipper so don’t make my mistake… just buy this one directly.

Super useful, easy to set, thin cable and cable ends so it will fit through smaller bag log holes in luggage. But only 3 stars from me because the black numbers in chrome is *super* hard to read with any kind of eyesight issues or darker light.

The locks were easy to set your own combination and fit snuggly through the locking mechanism on the suitcase. The lock seems to be another quality built master product. So far so good.
