Fits a 25cm gap between appliances - still going strong!
UPDATE - this is a great bin. It's still going strong four years later. Many pedal bins I've had before, the pedal mechanism packs up. We love this bin. Fits under the worktop as well - lid opens most of the way. I use regular black bin liners in it. It's used as our recycling bin. Main bin is attached inside cupboard door. The recycling bin is the one that always fills up most.Hmm - seems a bit flimsy for the price. I chose it because if fits perfectly in a 25cm gap between our fridge and sink cupboard, and also fits under the worktop (lid opens plenty to get things in, if not fully). I like the bin and the pedal mechanism works fine, but I foresee it no being sturdy enough to be long-lasting (the pedals usually go in my experience). However, as we got it for the recycling rubbish it could easily be used without a lid or pedal in the future.

Great bins
I actually didn't see the word effect so assumed they were metal like the ones we were replacing. So, after my initial surprise, they look classy, you certainly don't think they look like plastic, they are lighter than my metal ones even though these are bigger and so much easier to wipe clean. One thing I do miss is plastic inserts meaning I now have to put a bin liner in for the paper recycling or you are carrying the whole bin outside to the dustbin.Overall, great buy and you will be pleased you purchased them. One thing I

Decent bin in the right shape and size
Arrived quite slowly, but it's a good bin. It was surprisingly hard to find a slim, rectangular bin that would actually use up all the available space we had to put it in. This one is the perfect shape/size.The pedal mechanism is good, although it isn't a soft-close one so it does make a bit of a bang when the lid closes. There's no separate container inside but there is a plastic ring around the top which hinges upwards and holds the bin liner, which actually works brilliantly - it's very easy to get the old liner out and fit a new one.The outside looks nice - it's very hard to tell that it's not real metal without touching it.

Slim fit
What can you say about a bin?...well it fits perfectly in tight spaces. Looks decent rather than our old plastic type one! Eco friendly as it was made using recycled materials and also a guarantee/warranty.Downsides? When you push the pedal to the floor, the lid does not close after..but if a pain for a "non touch" bin. Also, the handle inside that holds the bag in place...it's in the way when taking out a full bag of rubbish...bag rips every time!

Perhaps one of the worst items I have ever purchased
OK, let's do the good stuff first. Compact and fits nicely in the small space I have for it. On first inspection, I think it looks fine. Easy to clean. It works as a bin...yes.The bad stuff! This product is flimsy, poorly designed, and a total waste of money (especially considering its price!) I have never been able to remove a bin bag without either getting it caught on some of the internal plastic (a fair few split bags) or without having to put the entire bin back together again afterward. Most of the plastic has now snapped off so I am left with just the bin lid and most of what holds the bag in place. In some ways, this is better as it stops me from having to click everything back in place. But in general, it is a total piece of rubbish (pun fully intended). I look forward to the day when I can bung this product in a skip.

Excellent bin
Very good design and space saving. They are good quality, excellent value for money, the 40l capacity is very good for the wasted products. I bought two one for general rubbish , other for recycling, we had previously one of two wasters combined but we found it very small capacity and the necessity of always changing the bags. With two of these bins we got a excellent size, storage and space saving. Totally recommended .

Decent bin; minor problem
Biggest problem with the bin:There's a slight gap between the interior of the bin and the casing for the pedal mechanism at the bottom of the bin. If something falls down and gets caught there, it can be a real pain trying to get it out, requiring something thin. There's no way - that I can see - to take this off to clean it properly. This would have been really easy to prevent by having the top of the mechanism-housing connect to the sides of the bin. It wouldn't reduce the bin capacity in the slightest (and would probably make it cheaper, easier to manufacture, and slightly less wasteful of plastic). There are other minor issues with the bin, of course; the flap that is meant to hold the bin bag is a little weedy - just a thin strip of plastic that holds the bag in place. Often it's just as easy and much faster to avoid using it. This does mean that there's a slightly less appealing overhang of the bag outside of the bin, but I can live with that personally.Beyond that, it's a servicable bin. A largeish container that you can put a bag in. I might prefer a slightly bigger one, but that's not really the products fault.

Stylish, slim but good capacity.
This bin looks stylish and fits well into narrow spaces. It has a capacity of 40 litres and is slim but tall. It looks like brushed stainless steel and repels fingerprints. It is actually a plastic construction though which enables easy cleaning. So far my husband hasn't realized it isn't metal. It has a foot pedal but you can also lift the lid manually using a lip on the lid. It doesn't have an inner container but the bottom is solid and it has a plastic inner ring at the top to hold bin liners firmly in place. So far I haven't had the bag fall through or split when being removed so I am very happy. To clean it just needs wiping with a damp cloth. It is sturdy and my cat has sat on the lid without it bending or breaking although I am discouraging this especially as she grows larger and heavier. The best recommendation is that my husband likes it - usually new things are never as good as the old ones - but this has his firm seal of approval.
