Duke Nukem Forever Review
Duke Nukem Forever is...overall (having played the game from start to finish and tried it on various difficulties) not a bad game. Saying that though it is nothing special either, it doesn't have anything graphic wise that we don't have already. But the game can be a great combination of challenging, fun and cheeky in that classic Duke way with sexual references, bloody gore and oversized enemies. If you ever wandered what Duke Nukem 3D would look like in modern day...I think this as good as it's going to get. I give this a solid 4/5 because in my personal opinion it is good gory and crude fun and having limited access to the older Duke Nukem games this is a good alternative. It can go over the top with the puns and crude references (yes even for Duke Nukem) sometimes. And the occasional glitch might show itself but what game doesn't these days. Otherwise it is a great action game that bring back your favourite alien freaks in enhanced detail and graphics. You most certainly need to be 18 or older to play, normally I wouldn't be so fussy about this but the adult humour on this is crazy (in both good ways and bad ways), not even getting into the gore. Classic fans of Duke Nukem...it's a toss up it all depends on how much you like change really...if you can stand what they have done to him, then you might like it. He still has some of his classic quotes that will make you smile if that helps. As for newcomers well...welcome to one of the most crude shooters ever :D

For those who thought half life 2 let you down
Duke Nukem Forever is a great old school game. If you had to compare it to another alien butchering first person shooter, it would be half life. The mix of puzzles, challenging enemies and great bosses, except for the ending really makes this game worth it. Some reviewers said that there are a lot of boobies in this game, with a pejorative tone. There is one chapter that is dedicated to topless girls in a bar, but aside from that, the presence of boobies is about comic relief, and believe me, there is a chapter in an alien location that is pretty frightening, where you draw your courage in whatever form to keep on going. The main problem that I had with the game was that it refused to install itself. This meant disc running noise during the playthrough. All things considered, Duke Nukem Forever is a great game!I am more looking forwards to a sequel to this game than a sequel to half life 2 with no aliens anytime!

Decent game, ignore the hate and decide for yourself!
I ordered this due to it being incredibly cheap at the time. I've played a lot of Duke Games, from Duke Nukem 3D to Time to Kill and Land of the Babes. I wasn't 100% whether to jump into this game which is why I avoided it for so long. After completing the game I really do think that this game is critically underrated. While not amazing or ground breaking it is definitely a fun game full of laughs, one liners and a sprinkle of puzzles here and there. A lot of reviewers complain about the game feeling dated and sure at times it does, the game has been through so much development hell its a wonder that it ever came out.In length the game lasted me longer than your average shooter so the story has quite a generous length to it. In addition to this there are lots of things to collect and interact with in the game, such as finding objects that you can interact with or getting a high score at pinball in order to increase your ego meter which again add to the play time. Duke has undergone a modern FPS paint job, rather than relying on health packs and being able to hold a massive arsenal of weaponry you instead have a rechargeable health bar called an Ego meter and you are only able to carry 2 weapons at a time. This may be a let down for some Duke fans but for me it didn't effect the game hugely. The industry has changed drastically over the years so it was not a surprise to see the game undergo a modern makeover. To people that liked the old Duke style of running and gunning I can't recommend Serious Sam enough, it will certainly scratch that itch as you have health packs, tons of enemies and have no weapon carry limit! This means you can quickly switch between the massive arsenal of weaponry in order to take down hordes of enemies rushing you.To some up my review:Decent game, heavily criticized by reviewers but its up to you to formulate your own opinionGame does feel dated but consider its historyLots of laughs, especially if you are a duke fanSome modern features such as recharging health and a 2 weapon carrying limit may put people offSerious Sam may be worth looking into if you fancy a more "old school" duke style gameWorth the moneyOverall I give the game a 6/10. Like I said its not particularly ground breaking but it also is not a terrible game. Gearbox Software have the rights to Duke now, so in future we may be able to look forward to the King returing in style and overall look forward to a better and more polished game.

Better than a lot of games out there.
Many people felt a little let down by this game. After 12 years of waiting, they expected a lot from it, and in return, got something that still felt a bit dated in design. However criticizing this game at every turn is incorrect. It is a lot of fun to play through, has a degree of interactivity only this game can have (well apart from perhaps Skyrim) and has room to make you laugh. The sound effects are nice, the visuals are lovely! and the gameplay itself it quite fun, in some places throwing interesting little puzzles your way.But the multiplayer was finished by GearBox the company behind boarderlands and many people disliked the multiplayer, it felt rushed. My personal dislike is some of the level design, empty vegas highways in a desert and a empty western town are dull compared the the highly varying and futuristic levels of DN3D.Other than that, a good game, it's a fiver so you can't go wrong.

A time to kill
He's here to chew gum and kick behind, it's Duke Nukem but not as you remember. There are flaws and it had a troubled production but I still find Duke to be funny even though the jokes are or of date.
