Only keeping it till I can get a way better, way cheaper alternative from abroad. *by M***K on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 April 2015* While there is some good quality sound on the very rare occasion, the tape adapter itself is incredibly fussy in the tape deck. I've had about five other tape adapters before this, all very cheap compared to this 'Sony' one, and with this probably being my sixth, I'm experienced with them, and yet I have to turn the volume on my phone to maximum, something I've never had to do before, then I have to jiggle the adapter about in the tape slot so much just to align the head, and even then the tape moves around so easily and the sound goes again. It's very difficult to get the sound out at a decent and adequate level when it's working well, too. Mostly it'll be loud for the beginning of a song, then go dead quiet, forcing me to turn up my stereo to insane levels, causing a loud fuzz from the speakers. Then it'll go dead loud for the next song's beginning, then dead quiet again for the remainder. In all will never buy this again, even if the sound, when it is working for that smallest of moments, is actually quite good. Hate this adapter. Hate Sony. Never buy again. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does what I wanted it to. *by G***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 December 2013* Iwas going to buy a cheaper model but read a few reviews that said this was worth the price difference and to be honest the difference while percentage wise may be relevant was only a few quid. It plays my MP3 player through my cassette system in the 14yr old car second hand car I've bought so I don't have to listen to the radio. The cassette system is the original one that came with the car and as the car is low end spec for it's model it was probably not a top end product when new. I get a noticable amount of tape noise (from the tape in the stereo not through the speakers.) and while I fully expect this is due to playing it on a 14 year old low end cassette player I cannot try another cassette to find out and so I cannot hand on heart tell others it is not from the adaptor. If you read other reviews they say it's silent so you can decide for yourself on that one. As a product it does what I wanted and saved me the price of fitting a modern system with MP3 play back or the right aux wire input so I'm haooy with it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent sound quality! A little tinkering with the sound settings on the car stereo pretty much eliminates the hissing at low - medium high volumes.
