These are exactly what I was looking for, a hiking sock with cushioning. I ordered 5 different brands that each advertised themselves as 'hiking' socks. Every other one I ordered had some cushioning, but the others were more for comfort while walking or just around the office or something. These keep my feet comfortable after hours on the trail. They are what I would call 'midweight', not 'expedition weight' - not for extreme winter conditions but great for backpacking. They are sized right too: I wear a men's 9.5 (US) and the small is fitted perfectly. Oh, and the colors are great!! Each package comes with a nifty sticker too.

Usually my toes are icy but these socks are so warm. Better than that they are soft and don’t catch on my rough foot skin. But we did throw them in the drier and they did shrink. They just shortened on the leg, not the foot. Or not our size 10 feet. I will purchase these socks again because they are a perfect thickness being heavier than a regular sock but not heavy enough to do winter hiking in Alaska. They were well worth the money.

Wool socks can sometimes be scratchy, not these. 70% wool kept my feet nice and warm around the house, stretch material was comfy, thin enough to fit easily into shoes. With regular running shoes stood for 5 hours in 45 degree weather, lakeside for a crew boating regatta and my feet were toasty. Great socks.

Very warm however after washing 😩 the lint balls 🤔
