A fantastic purchase! Easy to adjust, easy to use, great at gripping. Once they are locked at the size I need the locking feature doesn't slip.

Excellent and quality. Slightly more expensive but worth the extra. Slim width jaws are perfect for confined access. Highly recommended.

I got these for a particular job, knowing that they would be useful in other ways in future. There are cheaper options, but these are actually German-made, and Knipex are a dependable brand. There is a version with shaped grips rather than dipped, but I balked at the extra £10 for some plastic. Were they used regularly, it would make more sense. The design is unremarkable, and in truth it takes a little care to adjust the jaws by moving the part-circular pin to another hole. They seem solid enough, with only a little play and a tiny misalignment of the jaws. They are probably better than most, and should last much longer.

Don’t bother with imitations, these simply give a really good grip and do the job.

Ever since I was an apprentice it was always Rothenberger grips I used as they were always by far the best on the market. Rothenberger appear to have let there standards slip and having recent issues with them decided to give these a try, I was not disappointed. After the 1st day of use I was so happy with the quality that I ordered another one. Top quality materials and feels very nice in the hand. Definitely recommend.

I replaced my 400mm Cobras with these Alligators. Althou the Cobras are great, I prefer the box joint in this size. I actually generally prefer Aliigators, probably just because I am more used to them. Like in the Knipex product description, these may be better suited for outdoor applications over Cobras, as there is less chance of the mechanism clogging up or being affected by dirt etc. The only downside with these, for me, is they have the foam pvc grips, whereas the Cobra had the better hard rubber pvc grips which I feel are better and more durable And for some reason these are more expensive..?). They're are a fantastic tool and very, very versatile, capable of tackling jobs you wouldn't expect. I have had to twist and turn allsorts of odd objects with these. Most recently the cap on a 1000ltr IBC Container of polymer glue, which has glued itself stuck.

I'm doing a new build on a rural property and need to move lots water around in 40mm-50mm poly pipe and these pliers have been invaluable doing up and undoing the larger rural poly pipe fittings. Great quality, I highly recommend.
