Bristol Novelty BA097 Gentleman's Monocle, Mens, Gold, One Size

Fabulous little item, well worth the money, ideal for fancy dress. mine is now adorning a Steampunk mannequin head....and he does look rather dapper!

At the price this looks more than adequate for my murder mystery party. It arrived promptly and looks just like the picture. I'm fairly certain the chain isn't actually gold but then never expected it to be. As reported by others, the monocle appears to be a little large and is very hard to keep in place for very long (my best attempt so far was achieved with my eye closed. ;-)I don't know how consistently engineered they are but the actual diameter of the monocle received would appear to be about 39 mm. Nearsights, a specialist in more functional (and much more expensive) monocles, recommends a 34 mm diameter for people under 5'6" (167 cm) in height, 37 mm for people between 5'6" and 6'0" (183 cm) and 40 mm for those over 6'0". Of course, their monocles also feature "galleries" (wire bits for your eye socket to grip), so should be easier to wear anyway.The chain looks robust enough for me, and should be easy enough to substitute if it does break.

Much better quality than expected for a novelty item

Its ok for what I've got it for a fancy dress party, very flimsy and will easily break however it will serve its purpose and It was a fast delivery.

The glass falls out Very cheap design. I had to superglue glass into frame. But then the glass got distorted waste of money. Do Not Buy

The item arrive broken - the metal loop had come away from the thinner metal eyepiece frame, and didn't look to have been fixed using anything substantial as there is barely any overlap between the ends of the loop and the frame. I tried to solder the two parts together, which was reasonably successful, but it lasted less than a day of light handling and came apart again. As I've attempted a repair it'll probably not be accepted back, and at this price it's not worth the hassle. So, a cheap item arrived in an unusable state. Disappointing.

I can safely testify to the face that this novelty monocle makes a great accompaniment to a Halloween costume. Looks fantastic and really tends to get passed around the room at parties with a great amusement factor.

This is a fun novelty item, but it had a serious use for me, I got Bells Palsey and my left eyelid closed on the eye. I took the plane class out of the monocle and used the frame to support the eye open. It worked well untill my eye recovered.

ursprünglich wegen dem günstigen Preis bestellt, hatte eigentlich kein all zu großwrtziges Material erwartet. Ich wurde sehr positiv überrascht. Die Verarbeitung ist sehr gut/stabil und es sieht auch sehr gut/echt aus. So gut sogar, dass es mir (leider) beim ersten Tragen direkt gestohlen wurde.
