I bought this for my girlfriend who partly just likes the look of these lamps but also read that they help with asthma, which she has suffered from all of her life.It arrived a day earlier than expected, which was great and my girlfriend has been leaving it on her bed- side cabinet on a low light overnight while she sleeps. It's only been a few days but she says that she does feel a bit better with regards to her asthma. She says she can breathe better and also she no longer has a clogged up nose and sneezes about 367 ,000 times in the morning. She hardly sneezes at all.The lamp also looks very nice and the dimmer switch was a good idea in my opinion. All in all a great lamp and well worth the money (and it was only £15)

Just received mine, didn't come in smart packaging shown in photo, just a scruffy brown box with polystyrene pieces for cushioning. The Rock itself is heat wrapped in plastic, and made a bit of a mess when I unwrapped it, the salt isn't sealed in any way so would deteriorate if you weren't careful with it. Came in one piece but very badly made, the cheap wooden base isn't properly screwed to the rock salt itself, and there's no dimmer switch as advertised , just a standard lamp switch. The bulb fitting just wedges inside the rock and there's barely big enough groove in the bottom of the base for the cable to sit flush on a table. Whole thing looks like it was quickly thrown together in the dark on the side of a mountain . A lot of people who bought this seem to have got lucky but I didn't. Not what I payed for!

We are so pleased with our purchase, you never really know when ordering on-line, all you can do is read the reviews and hope. Well I have to say the product is better than we could have even hoped for, we ordered three rock salt lamps, they arrived speedily, perfectly packaged and even had a spare bulb.I have no hesitation in recommending and this is a great and unusual gift.This reviewer did NOT receive a free item in return for this review and would have happily given a bad review had that been his experience!J

Lovely lamp, gives a soft glow and has been the only light I can deal with when I have a migraine. I love the dimmer affect too.The lamp arrived very quickly and was well packaged. All working well and I am very pleased with my purchase. Thank you

This lamp is really great for the price. I can’t really fault it. Decent size (& heavy!), & the dimmer switch has a great range of brightness to choose from. My main tip would be to fully search through the box for the bulb; I’ve seen some reviews state they didn’t receive a bulb and I’m willing to bet it was just hidden in the packaging!I can’t really review the other properties that salt lamps portend to have, as I bought this on a sleep deprived 3am shopping bend trying to find things to help my toddler sleep...and he still doesn’t sleep. Can’t blame the lamp for that though.

Bought this as a gift for my wife and she was very pleased.The light is surprisingly bright (something I wondered about as the pictures themselves did not give me a very good idea of how it would illuminate a room) This might vary based on the hue of the salt itself, howerver the piece that arrived for her was quive pale at the top and a rosey colour at the bottom.When on, this piece looks beautiful and certainly is the the standard that I have seen on the highstreets in alternative stores....for those who are curious, this is definitely salty if you lick it...I would leave readers to infer from this how I have come to know this, but on an um...unrelated note, probably not a good idea for people to lick this (included this just to satisfy the curiosity of some like-minded people!)That being said, do not use these to illuminate stables or outdoors as animals will probably like to lick it, and rain will dissolve the piece...these are quite obviously designed for indoor use.

I am really pleased with this salt lamp. I have been looking for one for some time and checking reviews for different products. This one stood out so finally went ahead. I am not dissapointed - this is very well made and has a sturdy lead and dimmer switch. Very easy to asssemble with bulb - 2 supplied. The colour is beaitiful and very relaxing. Thank you for the detailed instructions on maintaining it too.

Bought one last year and thought i'd buy another. Same firm but not the same quality. The base unsecure and when my hand slipped a little the bulb blew and blew the whole house fuse. I've had things go before but never blow the whole house. They offered to send another lead and bulb but they'd be the same. When the bulb blew it went into little burning pieces of plastic. I was plunged into darkness and could only see the little glowing embers on the floor. I had to stamp them out. Will never use EVER again.
