Q: can it be used over surface rust ?

Yes! But it’s probably better to wire brush as much rust off if possible. It will stop rust from forming more. I’ve sprayed 4 vehicles with it

Any undercoat gun will work. Use a regulator to fine tune the air pressure

Q: What are the air compressor requirements (e.g Gallons, psi, sfcm) to undercoat a mid size sedan? Will be using woolwax sprayer.

70-90 psi no smaller than 3gallon compressor tank. The smaller the compressor harder the it’ll work to keep up. Hope this helps.

Q: Can this be used on aluminum trailers?

You can apply the surface shield to any surface including aluminum. It's a lanolin based product.
