Avon Skin So Soft Original Dry Oil Body Spray 150 ml - Pack of 5

Smells great and leaves the skin feeling smooth. My daughter gave this to me while we were on holiday. She said it keeps the mozzles away. I didn't get bitten once so now this is put in my suitcase every holiday.

We purchased this after being ravaged by mosquitoes in the evenings when we were out, and also when we were in. We have out bedroom windows open so wide at night that they almost always come in, and we even catch them in there before we sleep. My other half usually tries to kill any that he sees, but you can't always get them, and once you're asleep you are going to get bitten regardless. We live near the Norfolk Broads so the area is rife with mosquitoes and gnats in the warmer months and we had really had enough of getting bitten to shreds. I was sceptical of this, given that it isn't marketed as an insect repellent as such, but my other half had used it before, and after reading the reviews on Amazon I decided to give it a go. Since we have been applying this, we haven't been bitten once! This is fantastic stuff, it doesn't smell anywhere near as bad as DEET although it's not the most pleasant smell in the world, and it has the added bonus of moisturising your skin as well. A little goes a fairly long way, and a bottle is lasting a long time. It doesn't mark clothes, it isn't overly greasy, leaves your skin with a subtle sheen and the citronella inside obviously works wonders! Although the listing said bottles may vary when I purchased this, we received the same bottle as the picture and the same ones that you get from the Avon catalogue. I really couldn't be happier with it and I couldn't recommend it enough. It's a fantastic product and I hope that Avon doesn't change it any time soon! 10/5!

Bought for keeping gnats away

I love this product, I use it on myself and my horse (sounds weird, but works better than anything I've tried for keeping the midges away)

Have used this for many years. Well from when it was introduced from Avon and the lady used to deliver it to your home. Easy to use and keeps your skin soft and moisturised. Can keep the mozzies away

We have recently moved to the Isle of Skye and the one thing I was most worried about was the Scottish Midge season as every biting insect on Earth seems to think it's fair game to eat me alive for fun! After 2 weeks of the midge season starting and I was bitten and itchy then I remembered what I'd heard about Skin So Soft - what did I have to lose at this point. Tiny cans of Smidge retail for about £7-8 and these bottles work out at about £3 each. And at least I'd be moisturised too. The dry oil is a little weird at first but I rather like it now as it is less heavy and greasy on my skin. It moisturises well too. Now for the important bit, Midges - I have seen a noticeable reduction in bites but they aren't repelled as such. Midges are attracted to the Carbon Dioxide that all mammals breathe out so unless we stop breathing it will be hard to stop them coming at you. However when I had Skin So Soft on they came in very close, tried to land on my skin and then did a massive U-turn. Only the very very persistent ones found a bit of skin I had missed. The midges will always bite humans first as we are not covered in hair and fur like other mammals so we are easy targets! The Midges still hover round you, get in your face, hair, eyes and still try to bite but are put off by the smell. The smell is miles better than DEET, not a perfume I would choose but better than DEET. So far I have had better results with Skin So Soft than I've had with Jungle Formula, Smidge, Citronella Candles and other products containing DEET and it's better value than all the rest too. Now just to find a way of not breathing out Carbon Dioxide and I'm sorted. Other tips are to wear light coloured clothing and cover up as much skin as possible.

Used this for years, easy to put on, and great for holidays it helps prevent mosquitoes bites. This package was great value for money. Recommend it.

Ideal if you have a skin sensitivity. Easy to apply. It also gives some protection against mosquitoe bites.

Good product, used as mosquito repellent, seemed to work well

I was doubtful about this product working as a mosquito repellent. However I now swear by it. Not only are you getting soft skin but good protection from bites.

Ordered as protection against midgets. Although midgets shown no immediate fear, it would have been much worse without.

Arrived on time. Product as expected. Won't hesitate to repeat the order.
